Typically outstanding product from Canon

Like many people, the space in my home office is limited. So my reason for choosing a "portable" printer was simply the smaller footprint in my home office. When you go shopping for printers these days, most of the popular products are "all-in-ones" that integrate the printer with a scanner and even...

Canon Portable Printer

There are a limited number of portable document printers and this one is excellent. While in use for a limited amount of time, it has performed great - easy setup, quick connection, excellent print quality, quick print.

Extremely Convenient

This portable printer is worth the cost as it has an excellent print quality and the ink cartridges are reasonably priced. I took this printer overseas so I could print online tickets or other things I needed. It was easy to transport as it wasn't overly heavy.

Canon Pixma iP100

Printers are usually tied down to you home or office. You can easily get portable thermal printers which can print small rolls of text (like a receipt), but what if you need to take some high quality photo prints?

[REVIEW-CANON Pixma iP100 portable printer]

This little printer (32cm long by 18.5cm deep and 62cm thick and weighing 2kg) is designed to go anywhere with a laptop computer. It comes with a rechargeable battery. There are two small ink cartridges, one black and one four-colour. Paper up to A4 can be used.

The output from the printer is consistently good after some fiddling with the print parameters; Images printed tended to be a little darker than on screen; Print speed is good, faster than some standard photo printers.

The price is inexplicably high; In the US this machine sells for AUD $258; Why does it cost $200 more here? Neither GST nor market size will justify this difference; And American reviewers are critical of what they consider a high price in their shops

Review: Canon Pixma iP100 with Battery printer

Truly portable photo printers are quite rare these days, although Canon has long produced them. The company's new Pixma iP100 offers both text and photo printing, and its internal battery and small dimensions mean it really can be carried around.

Canon Pixma iP100

Other owners report at Amazon.com that the paper feed jams regularly; for some the problem began immediately, while for others it occurred after a year. Another says the printer continues to work well after 15 months of use, but he had trouble connecting via Bluetooth when he switched to Mac.

Portable and lightweight; Good text; photo prints; Can print directly from cameras

No memory-card slots; Paper feed issues
