It's the OEM battery branded by the camera manufacturer, so it works properly and will probably last a long time. That's why I bought it rather than a no-name brand battery. This camera goes in a housing underwater, so battery reliability is crucial.
I've used various lithium ion replacement batteries for Canon cameras, and have found that the Canon brand always holds longer charge and can be recharge more times before wearing out. Costs more than off brands but worth it if you count on your camera. Also check for sales and price matching.
