Wonderful and compact little scanner.
This item is a small and compact but fast scanner. It is small enough to fit neatly on your desk and powerful enough to handle large volumes. It is quite and can do double sided or single sided scanning. The equivalent new model is slightly larger and retails around ￡700 so this is a bargain.

Canon DR-2580C
The Canon DR-2580C document scanner ($875 street) doesn't look much like its lower-priced cousin, the DR-2050C , but it's aimed at the same audience-those in small offices or small workgroups-and shares an emphasis on speed.
Pros:
- Fastest scanner we've tested for scanning and recognizing text pages
- Driver supports both ISIS and Twain, to work with virtually any scan program
- Flatbed option available
Cons:
- No software for document management or indexing included in package
- Unclear installation instructions

Best Ever
I had previously purchased a Japanese standup, gravity scanner, and it would not work correctly with Windows 97. I ordered the Cannon DR-2580-C. When it arrived, I called Canon and told them I was not going to pay $700+ for a machine so small and, I thought useless.

DR-2580C SHEETFED SCANNER
This is a DREAM scanner for anyone with lots of paperwork. It was expensive but at 25ppm it seemed the best option to reduce my paper clutter. It comes with Adobe 8.0 and some Canon specific software that was fairly easy to use without reading the manual.

Compact, easy to use and easy to install!
A great scanner for a small business setting. Compact, fast to use and easy to setup for multiple users to scan to folders in a network setting. I would recommend it for purchase.

Decent scanner
This may be a great scanner for new pristine documents but s far as a work horse for digitizing lots of old documents, it leaves much to be desired

Works great right out of box
I installed the flatbed unit in a few seconds and it worked perfectly the first time. Switching between the flatbed and the autofeed unit is a snap using Canon's software. Great product.

Highly recommended gadget for workgroups
Comments about Canon DR-2580C: We have other scanners in the office but the scanning speed of this machine is very impressive compared to its closest competitor. It takes no time in scanning, recognizing texts and saving in searchable PDF format. Not to mention its duplex capability.

Canon High Speed Scanner
Great product, quick transaction. I travel frequently and take this product on the road with me.
