An excellent camera but ...
I like to shoot with a lens as wide angle as I can get. So when this model came out with a 24mm equiv lens it was hot fave to replace my IXUS 800, which has a 28mm lens. However, in making this move, I would be losing one of the 3 must-haves that I specified for a compact - an optical viewfinder.

Canon has never had much trouble getting its range of IXUS compact cameras noticed: it has historically been among the best-looking, best-performing you can get, and the Canon IXUS 200 IS adds another string to a formidable bow.

It's a great camera for the money and a perfect size.
This is a perfect size camera. I throw it in my purse so I always have it. It takes amazing photos. Great for vacations, kid's events, etc. Works well both indoors and outdoors. Even works works well in places where the lighting is poor.

I love this camera! It takes great pictures. It is a very High Tech camera, but yet, simple to operate. I have been using a Canon 20D, and previously used a Canon 10D. They take great pictures too, but I must confess,. . .with the lens they are heavy and tiresome to pack around.

Feeding my camera addiction!
Am a Canon SLR kind of guy, love telescopic lenses. Always wanting closer pictures. Purchased a Swaroski spotting scope (20-60x 60mm), then I found the digital camera adapter for this scope.
