Canon Ixus 200 IS review
Image quality isn't the best, but the touchscreen, wide-angle lens, HD video mode and HDMI output justify the high price.

Canon IXUS 200 IS
Looking the business in a slinky, grey casing the Canon IXUS doesn't pull any punches with a 24mm lens giving a 5x optical zoom, DiG!C IV processor and 3in TFT LCD screen on the back. Most interesting, though, is the touchscreen capabilities of the little camera.
Pros:
- Sexy design
- Fast touchscreen
- Good build
- Nice colour reproduction
Cons:
- Noise reduction interferes with resolution too much
- Noise is still an issue despite NR
- Slow response to certain command buttons

Canon PowerShot SD980 IS
At long last, Canon has finally adopted touchscreen technology. And fittingly, they opted to debut this new functionality on one of the more unique members of the Digital ELPH line, the PowerShot SD980 IS. The Canon SD980 is unique because it's the first ELPH to feature a 24mm lens.
Pros:
- Very compact for a 5x zoom, 24-120mm eq
- lens is very wide, with good telephoto reach as well, Optical image stabilization, Low geometric distortion at wide and tele, Better-than-average corner sharpness for a 24mm eq.
Cons:
- Slight lens flare in bright light
- High chromatic aberration at wide-angle
- Difficult to hold camera without touching the LCD
- LCD susceptible to smudging and scratching
- Zoom control makes precise framing difficult
- Unique Active display modes require you to move the camera in dangerous ways,

Canon Ixus 200 IS
The Ixus 110 IS won five stars when we tested it, and so we're hoping that Canon will be able to repeat that success with the new Ixus 200 IS, which has a more powerful 24-120 mm
Pros:
- Image quality at low sensitivities
- Powerful ultra wide-angle
- Good optical stabilisation
- Traditional interface works well
- Generally very responsive
Cons:
- The touchscreen makes things more complicated
- Slider to switch modes more stylish than practical
- No optical zoom in video
- Weak burst mode

Canon IXUS 200 IS Digital Camera Review
Canon's IXUS 200 IS is a striking compact camera for a number of immediately obvious reasons beginning with its size. This lightweight 130g unit has the tiny dimensions of 99.9 (W) x 53.4 (D) x 22.9mm (H) - not including the protrusion of the two-tiered lens – and on first glance, seems to resemble...

Canon IXUS 200 IS
We're a little caught between feelings for the 200 IS - on the outside it looks just like any other IXUS, and you can completely get away with never touching (pardon the pun) any of the touchscreen capabilities.
Pros:
- Touchscreen is responsive
- Nice interface
- Good pictures with punchy colours
Cons:
- Poor performance compared to other compacts
- Why does a touchscreen camera have a whole host of buttons?

Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS review
Canon's on to something with touchscreen controls, but for the price, this may be first-gen tech best left alone
Pros:
- Spacious LCD screen
- swooping through galleries
Cons:
- Touch controls only work for some things
