Fantastic little camera

The emphasis being on little, as this is small, but very comfortable to hold and take pictures with. I bought it because of its wifi capability. I have seen other reviews of this camera which say the wifi is fiddly to set up, absolutely not the case, it's a doodle and I'm no techy!

It's a nice camera made out of metal. Not a small one and therefore it's adequate for bigger hands. But the picture-quality isn't that good. With a clear blue sky you could shoot some good pics. But when you you need to use the flash all you got are pics with gleaming and unnatural colors.

Canon IXUS 1100 HS

Ideal for photographers who love the flexibility of a touchscreen camera, the IXUS 1100 HS also offers a huge optical zoom and good image quality. The lack of a decent battery life is disappointing, though, and makes the shooting experience more frustrating than it should be.

Large; easy-to-see touchscreen; Useful 12x optical zoom; Good image and video quality for most uses; Effective image-stabilisation system

Very short battery life; Warm indoor white balance; No grip

Canon IXUS 1100 HS

Canon is no stranger to compact cameras with long lenses, the most recent example being the IXUS 1000 HS . As you can tell by the naming convention, the IXUS 1100 HS supersedes this older camera, adding a few extra bits and pieces, like a longer lens, to the specifications sheet.

Large, easy-to-see touchscreen; Useful 12x optical zoom; Good image and video quality for most uses; Effective image-stabilisation system

Very short battery life; Warm indoor white balance; No grip

Canon PowerShot ELPH 510 HS Review

The Canon PowerShot 510 HS is a solid 12MP camera with a very useful 12x zoom. Image quality is very good and the movies are more than satisfactory.

Good quality stills/videos; Nicely implemented touchscreen UI; Compact package; large 12x zoom

Definitely for static subjects; Relatively slow AF response; Sub-par battery life (get a spare

Canon ELPH 510 HS / IXUS 1100 HS

The Canon ELPH 510 HS / IXUS 1100 HS is a 12.1 Megapixel super-slim compact with a 12x stabilised zoom and a 3.2in touch-screen. The top of the range ELPH / IXUS, it's one of two models in the 2011 range endowed with touch screens and the one which pushes the outer limits in terms of zoom range.

12x zoom with intelligent optical stabiliser; Super-slim stylish compact design; 1080p24 movie mode; Creative filter effects

Lens suffers from chromatic aberration; Average continuous shooting speed; Touch-screen can be unresponsive; Flash and mics easily obstructed

Canon PowerShot Elph 510 HS

The 12-megapixel Canon PowerShot Elph 510 HS ($349.99 direct) delivers an impressive 12x zoom range in a pocketable body, with a touch screen that replaces almost every physical control typically found on a camera .

High-res touch-screen LCD; Sharp lens; Solid build quality; Good HD video quality

Poor high ISO performance; Slow start up
