Extremely good camera

I bought this camera 3 weeks ago after much debate on if I should or go with another brand , I will say I am extremely happy that I chose the EOS R . The camera is fantastic in the studio and also with natural light .

Great Features; Great Picture Quality; Lightweight

Canon EOS R review

Capable, customisable, but compromised. The Canon EOS R is a great proof of concept, with fantastic features such as the new Control ring and M-Fn Bar, and offers tangible upgrades to existing EF and EF-S lenses.

Great control customisation; Dual Pixel AF with 5,655 AF positions; Fully articulating screen

No in-body image stabilisation; Cropped 4K video; Single SD card slot

Review: Canon EOS R is a fantastic full-frame mirrorless camera that feels two years behind

AppleInsider has spent the last month testing out Canon's first full-frame mirrorless EOS R shooter to see how it stacks up in an ever-growing mirrorless market.

The Canon 6D was my first grown-up camera, back in 2013. I loved how Canon's colors looked like the best version of reality, and how sharp its glass was, and the 6D was the most affordable way to get into full-frame photography.

A great first step for Canon towards the right direction. Worth the pickup with the mount adapter if you have other Canon lenses. It would probably be worth waiting to see what the future brings for the EOS R.

Easy and comfortable to grip

Imperfectly amazing

One caveat off the bat. A lot about how you feel about this camera, is likely going to depend on what camera you are coming from, or intend to upgrade to in the near future. Personally, I am an amateur hobbyist, Ive used Canons Rebel line (T2i and T6i) and was looking to upgrade to a better body...

Love It! - shot a full month with camera

1) I am a semi-pro. I sell enough work at shows and galleries around town to buy my gear, beer, and mad money. I do not consider myself a full pro as I do not make a living from photos. I shoot landscape, urban & former sports.

EVF Customizable buttons Touch AF!!! WYSIWYG Weather sealing; I've shot this in snow and rain the past month with 0 issues. Lens shutter when changing lens; This is well thought by C. R lens adapter works perfectly with all lens.

R lens are pricey currently; Give it some time and the SIgma's and Tamrons will release R compatible lens; My current fav lens is the Tamron 15-30 beast EVF and live menu drain the battery faster, but that is expected. Has yet to fill my car with gas

Goondu review: Canon EOS R

The war of the mirrorless camera has indeed started now with the introduction of the Canon EOS R camera hot on the heels of the Nikon Z7 .

Canon EOS R

Canon needs to do better. As it stands, the EOS R is no threat to the Sony a7 III, which is one of the most capable full-frame mirrorless cameras you can buy at any price. That it's $2,000 makes it a staggering value, and our Editors' Choice.

Proven 30MP full-frame sensor; Vari-angle touch LCD; Big, sharp EVF; 8fps continuous capture; Big shooting buffer; Broad lens compatibility via adapter; Unique native lenses

M-Fn bar tricky to use effectively; Uncomfortable rear dial; Omits focus joystick; No in-body stabilization system; Inconsistent metering; Single memory card slot; No PC sync socket; 4K video is heavily cropped

Canon EOS R Mirrorless Camera Review

Of all the major camera manufacturers, Canon is typically viewed as the most conservative and the most traditional. It's also been, arguably, the most successful.
