The Canon EOS M6 Mk II is the updated version of the Canon EOS M6 that was first announced in February of 2017. While the M6 Mk II features a nearly identical exterior to its predecessor, much of the upgrades are within the camera's internals.

Canon EOS M6 II review so far

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II is a mid-range mirrorless camera with a 32.5 Megapixel APSC sensor, uncropped 4k video at 25 or 30p, 14fps shooting with autofocus, a tilting touchscreen and slide-on electronic viewfinder.

Canon EOS M6 Mark II

With a new 32.5MP sensor and the Digic 8 processor under the hood, Canon's new EOS M6 Mark II is all set to shove the EOS M5 to the side and become the brand's new APS-C mirrorless flagship.

32.5MP resolution; 14fps continuous shooting; 4K uncropped video; Dual function dial; MF/AF switch

Lacks in-body image stabilization; No articulating LCD; Limited native EF-M lenses

Hands on: Canon EOS M6 Mark II review

There's been a coup: EOS M has a new flagship – and Canon's APS-C mirrorless line has never been more relevant...

Monster 32.5MP APS-C sensor; 14fps continuous / 30fps burst; Uncropped 4K with Dual Pixel!!

180° screen; but no articulation; No in-body image stabilization; Native EF-M lenses still limited

Canon EOS M6 Mark II review: Do megapixels matter

The Canon EOS M6 Mark II wins on resolution, but how much do megapixels matter

32.5 megapixels; Compact; lightweight; Good menu system; Dual Pixel AF works for 4K video

No built-in viewfinder; Poor high ISO performance; Limited number of EF-M lenses

Canon EOS M6 Mark II Review

Canon EOS M6 Mark II review – Canon launched the Canon EOS M6 Mark II in September this year and it comes with some improvements and design tweaks. Holding the Canon EOS M6 Mark II is comfortable despite being in a small camera body – thanks to its deep camera grip.

Canon EOS M6 Mark II: A great little camera

It might be small, light and consumer-friendly, but we can see the M6 Mark II being comfortable in the bag – or indeed pocket – of many professionals. Good enough to pop off the odd still for social media and easily capable of great-looking video, it's reasonably affordable, expandable enough and...

Good images; Competent video mode; Good handling and body controls

Not cheap

Canon EOS M6 Mark II

It's for those reasons we continue to recommend the Fujifilm X-T30 and Sony a6400 more highly for photographers shopping for a mirrorless camera. The M6 Mark II itself isn't too far behind, and if Canon can better support it with native lens options, its appeal should broaden.

High-resolution 32.5MP sensor; 14fps burst rate; Quick, accurate autofocus; Face and eye detection; Flip-up LCD; 4K video; Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

EVF isn't built in; Sensor isn't stabilized; Native lens library lacks premium options; Dumbed-down video options; Pricey
