The Canon EOS 7D is one of the newest digital SLRs from Canon . It is aimed at semi-professionals and has several extra features compared to the cheaper digital SLRs. Of course, which improvements you'll be willing to pay the extra money for will be different for different photographers.

I use this for taking HDRI images for use in 3D renders.. the 8fps is great for that. I also use it with a macro lens to shot stop motion with Dragon Stopmotion and the Live mode allows me to use the 7D as I would a high end Video cam, but with way more lens possibilities.
