Canon EOS 7D

The Canon EOS 7D is a new advanced cropped-sensor DSLR with a very rich feature set starting with an 18 MP sensor with ISO sensitivity range up to 12,800 and high-speed continuous drive up to 8 FPS and including many advanced features such as a 100% coverage viewfinder, a digital level,...

Very low image noise; Excellent sharpness; ISO range entirely usable; up to 1600 for large prints; Super-fast autofocus speed and tacking; No shutter lag and great shot-to-shot speeds; Quick and responsive; Large 100% coverage viewfinder; 2-Axis digital level; Full choice of exposure modes for...

Frequent overexposure; Poor color accuracy; Poor white-balance; both auto and preset under artificial light; Slower than average instant review speed; Slow to power-off due to sensor cleaning; LCD too bright; Several interface oddities; see review page 2

Canon EOS 7D SLR Body itself is a great product and when you get discounts and freebies on its purchase, it becomes great. I read about this camera and bought it through Snapdeal.

Worst purchase ever

As a pro how can you use a camera that will give you about a 35% in focus, and some times even less. I got it as a second body and is a piece of junk..Many photo shoots ruened.

good battery life; Nice features/settings; Quick Start-up time; Superior build quality; Lightweight/Portable; Simple controls/menu

Dim LCD; Shaky operation; Poor image quality; noisy; Difficult to use

Canon EOS 7D DSLR Camera Body with 18-55mm IS II and 75-300mm III Lenses 16GB Bundle

The camera was fine, but the battery was non-functioning and one of the lenses is after-market and will not fit. It will cost additional money for us to even know if the camera works as advertised.

Canon 7D - Cream of the Canon Crop

The Canon 7D is currently the most advanced, non 1D crop body currently produced by Canon - even though it's going on three years old. There are lots of things that make this body stand out compared to the other crop (APS-C 1.6x) factor bodies.

High FPS (8); Quality Auto Focus System and Metering System; strong magnesium build; 1080p video

Aging technology (getting due for a refresh); retail price still slightly high

Canon EOS 7D

A "joy to shoot with." Since it's aimed toward advanced photographers, including pros on a budget, the Canon EOS 7D skips novice-oriented features. For example, you won't find Portrait or Landscape presets on the mode dial; they're still there, but you have to hit the menu.

Great image quality; Pro-grade speed and features; All-metal and weather-sealed; Fast continuous shooting

No continuous autofocus in movie mode; Only one card slot

Canon EOS 7D Review / Test Report

Canon has pretty much dominated the full format DSLR arena for several years but they suffered a couple of hefty blows from Nikon in the APS-C segment during the last few years. Canon was able to respond in the low end market but they didn't really offer any direct competitor to Nikon D200/D300(s)...

outstanding build quality, high resolution combined with decent dynamic range, superb viewfinder (for an APS-C DSLR) inc; super-imposable grid lines, full HD (1080p @ 30 fps) movie mode, dual axis electronic level, excellent battery life

"average" high-ISO performance; AWB (auto-white balancing) could be better in artificial light conditions

[REVIEW-CANON EOS 7D DSLR]

This18 megapixel DSLR camera has dual image processors for fast operation – burst mode of up to 8fps (JPEG). It is well made and rugged with extensive sealing against dust and moisture. There is automatic dust removal by filter shake.

This camera is ultra-responsive with seemingly no time lag between imagining the picture and having it saved on the CF card; The 8fps burst speed is ideal for capturing fast moving subjects; Auto focus and auto exposure are almost always spot on.

Only having three frame auto bracketing is poor; Nikon brackets nine and Pentax seven – which is ideal for creating high dynamic range sets; The low light auto-focus assist lamp is still the dreadful pulse flash method
