Canon EOS 700D

The Canon EOS 700D is an excellent camera. It offers real-time preview of Creative Filters in Live View mode. There is also a redesigned new mode dial that turns 360 degrees. Not to mention the amazing finish.

The key features of the Canon EOS 700D are its 18 MP APS-C "Hybrid CMOS" sensor. It offers autofocus in movie mode as well as subject tracking. With the EOS 700D, you get a 14-bit DIGIC 5 processor, 5 fps continuous shooting, and a 9 point AF system which is easy to use.

This camera has a lot of outstanding features which include a 3:2 flip-out dot screen and 18MP CMOS sensor.

This camera was designed to offer features aimed at improving its live view and video. One of the best features is its ability to provide continuous AF tracking while recording movies. Most people love using this camera.

All of this is possible with Canon's "Hybrid CMOS" sensor. It offers pixels dedicated to phase detection autofocus. The Hybrid AF system helps to set the lens to the right distance. The result should be faster and better focusing for live view and video shooting. This technology makes the Canon EOS 700D, one camera that you will want to have. It is powerful and produces excellent photos.

With the EOS 700D, you get a touchscreen. The screen is capacitive (contact sensitive) rather than resistive (pressure sensitive) type and works similar to a smartphone. In Movie mode and Live View, the screen helps to tell the point of focus and releases the shutter. Furthermore, it supports iPhone like gestures. The rear screen is well designed and there is no gap between the cover glass and the display. The goal is to reduce reflections in bright light.

The camera comes with a DIGIC 5 processor, which allows it to take photos at a maximum sensitivity of 12,800 (25,600 extended). The result is lens-specific corrections. There is a lot to like about this camera. With high-quality photos, you will love the Canon EOS 700D.

Great for Photography Starters

Bought this camera almost a year ago and still using it now. Great for beginners but also for those who wants to tweak a few things here and there for better pictures. Capable of shooting RAW, and video is superb. However, noise can be high on high ISOs but this can be fixed with post processing.

The upgrade to the Canon 700D is so subtle that we spent the first few minutes pondering whether Canon had accidentally sent us its predecessor. Indeed, even Canon seems mildly embarrassed, quietly shuffling the Canon EOS 650D into early retirement, leaving the 600D on the market for those who want...

Canon EOS 700D review review

Takes fantastic photos; Flip-out touchscreen; New video-friendly kit lens;

Only minor upgrade over 650D; Not the very best autofocus in class; Live View is still too slow;

Canon Rebel T5i Review

The T5i may lag behind in image quality, but its user-friendly features and plentiful lens options make it an attractive option for beginners.

A touchscreen display makes adjusting exposure settings simple

An older sensor produces only average image quality

Canon EOS 700D / Rebel T5i Review

The Canon EOS 700D – or Canon Rebel T5i as it's known in some territories – is Canon's latest DSLR. Find out how it fares in the What Digital Camera Canon EOS 700D full review

Responsive and well-implemented touchscreen; Light body; Fast AF system; Effective Auto Lighting Optimizer; Noise control; good video capture

Can feel a little plasticky in places; Not suited to action photography with limited AF points for tracking and a small buffer

Although the Canon EOS 650D was the first DSLR to have a touchscreen, Canon sensibly decided that the touch controls should be in addition to rather than instead of the button and dial controls.

Canon EOS Rebel T5i review

The Canon EOS Rebel T5i is a very capable and versatile camera that produces high quality images. It has a comprehensive feature set and affords all the control expected by enthusiast photographers while providing automatic hand-holding options for less experienced users.

Canon EOS 700D Digital SLR Review

The Canon EOS 700D, like the 650D before it, is an excellent Digital SLR capable of producing excellent images, with good exposure, multiple options, including HDR, handheld night shot, 5fps continuous shooting, DIGIC 5 processor, and the Q. menu lets you change settings and options quickly.

Excellent noise performance up to ISO3200; Live view allows 5x and 10x magnification; Excellent image quality; Excellent colour reproduction; Excellent touch screen; Solid body with good handling; Playback image star ratings; Q.

18-55mm IS STM lens larger than previous model; Live view still slow with STM lens; The lens aberration correction feature slows continuous shooting
