However, it's worth remembering that that the 600D/Rebel T3i was priced at £679/$799 RRP body-only when it came out in April 2011, yet today it can be found for around £499/$579. It shouldn't be too long before the Canon EOS 650D street price becomes more palatable as well.

Canon EOS 650D Digital SLR Review

Video is improved thanks to stereo sound and continuous AF, although this is still generally quite slow compared to mirrorless cameras, and the noise of the lens focussing is easily picked up by the internal microphones.
Pros:
  • Excellent noise performance up to ISO3200 and above
  • Live view allows 5x and 10x magnification to aid manual focus
  • Excellent image quality
  • Excellent colour reproduction
  • Excellent touch screen
  • Solid body with good handling
  • Playback image star ratings
Cons:
  • Slow live view focus (compared to Sony SLT or Mirrorless
  • Lens focusing motor loud and picked up by microphones
  • Noticeable barrel and pincushion distortion with 18-135mm lens
  • The lens aberration correction feature slows continuous shooting

brilliant camera , great for video

You're thinking of getting the 650d, reading the reviews, comparing it to the 600d and countless others and pulling your hair out at all the pros and cons? Am I close. I'm a photographer and have used this, the 600d and its sony equivalent. I might be able to help.

I've had an old Minolta film camera in which I learn how to shoot photographs, since then I didn't have a serious camera until I bought the t4i (just a bunch of point and shoots). The first thing I noticed is the touch screen, getting to the menus and browsing photos is very easy with it.

Canon EOS 650D: Review

The first cameras were all with the touch screen compact, since the choice of pressing with your finger on the screen was linked to the choice of saving space by removing some traditional controls such as dials and buttons.
Pros:
  • Fully adjustable screen
  • type tactile interface and well designed
  • King's sense of proximity that turns off the screen when not in use
  • Image quality
Cons:
  • Body a little small and unbalanced
  • Shutter sounds a bit metal

As an older person I find the controls difficult for older stiffer fingers ans the controls at the back too close to thumb area when shooting . Other than that I am very happy having previously used a a 300d and now upgraded a bit, love Canon products .
Pros:
  • Good battery life
  • Quiet
  • Nice features/settings
  • Quick Start-up time
  • Excellent image quality
  • Bright LCD
  • Solid Operation
  • Lightweight/Portable
Cons:
  • Difficult to use
  • Complicated controls/menu

Canon EOS 650D review

The Canon EOS 650D has taken beginner-enthusiast D-SLRs to the next level. Although it 'only' has an 18-megapixel sensor, image quality is great, and high ISO performance is strong. Thanks to the Digic 5 processor, it will also blast off 5fps to help you keep up with fast-moving subjects.
Pros:
  • Touch-screen LCD
  • 5fps
  • Image quality and high ISO
Cons:
  • Quite pricey
  • Touch-screen needs to be clean
  • Mixed materials on body

amazing camera - better with the 18-135 stm lens

the audio recording is pretty bad still. the mics are better, but the preamps in the camera are not designed for GREAT quality.. only GOOD quality. pick up an external audio recorder to help with the audio.
Pros:
  • touchscreen is SO much faster than the t3i
Cons:
  • the stm lens is a bit slow, and not happy in low light
  • but the 25600 iso, f3.5 and a 1 second shutter will get you a 4pm shot at 2am.

I was very pleased with the service I received and the speed with which it was delivered. Value was amazing! Some of the accessories were of lesser quality - but still amazing value.
