Sitting in-between the Canon 600D and EOS 7D in Canon's current lineup, the Canon 60D features a polycarbonate body rather than a magnesium alloy type, meaning the exterior doesn't share the same solid, durable feel as some of its closest rivals, but that said, the handgrip is well moulded and feels
Canon EOS 60D with 18-135mm lens
Superior ergonomics – particularly the bigger viewfinder and articulated screen – make this a shrewd choice for Canon upgraders willing to look beyond the 550D.
Canon EOS 60D review
It's only natural to view the Canon 60D as a replacement for the semi-pro EOS 50D . As well as following on in typical numerical sequence, Canon also pronounced the EOS 50D obsolete at the same time as launching the new camera.
Canon EOS 60D Review
We've come to expect follow-on cameras to generally out-do the camera they're replacing features-wise, and the 60D follows suit in most cases compared to the 50D. Sensor resolution is up and an HD video capability exists where none did before.- Swiveling monitor
- Excellent image quality
- Great high ISO performance
- Slow AF in video mode
- Awkward mode dial
- No continuous video AF
Canon EOS 60D with 18-135mm lens review
It's not easy following the trajectories of Canon and Nikon's SLR product lines. As Nikon replaces its superb but aging D90 with the considerably more upmarket Nikon D7000 , the Canon 60D is in many ways a downgrade to the 50D it replaces.
Canon EOS 60D review
The EOS 60D sits between the EOS 50D and the EOS 7D in Canon's mid-range digital SLR offerings. It's fast, has a vari-angle LCD screen, shoots high-definition video, and has useful built-in image processing. So far, so good.- Fast burst mode
- excellent high ISO performance
- hinged LCD screen
- full HD video recording
- 8-way control button feels terrible and doesn't always respond
Canon EOS 60D Review
At first blush, you'd think the EOS 60D would be more capable than the older EOS 50D. That's only partially true. It's got more pixels and a more sophisticated metering engine, but it lacks the metal body and has a lower maximum continuous shooting speed.- Excellent balance
- great choice of lenses
- superb video capabilities
- Only nine focus points
- obtuse UI
Definitely worth the upgrade from 30D
So far so good! This was a recent upgrade from the 30D I have used for almost 5 years. The most practical feature I have enjoyed on this model over the 30D is the AUTO ISO feature when using AV/TV modes. The build construction and feel in my hand is not as good as my old 30D.- Easy To Use
- Good Image Quality
- High ISO Performance
- Crop Sensor
- Plastic body
- Shutter sound
great mid range camera
This is the second time I purchase this camera, my previous one were stolen. Since I don't have budget to upgrade to full frame. I choose to purchase 60D again. It's a wonderful mid-range camera with a lot of great things. I use it for both photo and a lot of video.- Easy To Use
- Fast Shutter Speed
- Good Image Quality
- High ISO Performance
- Hi res LCD screen
- Large Clear LCD
- Tilt /Swivel LCD
- Lack of certain button
- Plastic body
- Too many useless mode
The Canon 60D has some smart features and handling is good overall, but getting the best results can take more effort than it should. Be prepared to interact with exposure compensation and auto lighting optimization settings fairly frequently.
