Good workhorse

Now I have used if for well over a year, and they may soon replace it, I thought it a good time to write a review.I write technical manuals for a living. I spend a lot of my time wriggling around inside machines, taking pictures.

Canon 60d is amazingly flawless!

"I wanted to try the canon 60d to start seriously making videos, and maybe take a couple of pictures, but the camera got me hooked. I had some prior experience with photography, but never video. It was all new to me but the Menu formats were so easy to master.

Vari Angle LCD, 18 ; 0 MP, Live View Mode, Full HD, 3 inch LCD, ISO 6400, 5 : 3 fps

shooting inside with no outside light gives an orangeish color; but that might be my crappy lens

Video is amazing!

If you, like me, are purchasing this DSLR for it's video capabilities, you won't be disappointed! It is fully manual, shutter, iris and ISO (which goes up to 3200). Amazing low light capture. I was shooting with just a candle in front of something an the image quality was outstanding.

I bought this to supplement my Powershot A480, which has good color, but is only tiny. The 60D fits like a glove and is comfortable to use. I cheaped out and bought the kit lens 18-55 IS - the 50mm prime f1.8 showed just how poor this is.

Great Photography Tool

Great for semi-pros Nice feel Easy to use Great Images (even better with lots of practise) Great choice of lens Bad Points: Dial and D pad are too close

Wonderful first camera for those with greater needs than the 500/550/600Ds or the 1000D

Poor camera in virtually all respects

Fortunately I didn't buy this camera but had one loaned for two weeks. I did not like it one bit. Ergonomically it was poor and I had to keep using the menu for things that should have been more directly available.
