Canon 60D vs Nikon D7000 - Factual comparison

There is no point saying "I like Canon or I like Nikon". Facual reviews are always better. I am trying to list down few of them - I am sure there are more. If personal comfort (like holding the camera or looking at the label "Canon" or "Nikon" makes you happy), then this review is not for you...

The Canon EOS 60D digital SLR camera is fast, performs well in the dark, takes crisp and vibrant pictures, and it offers plenty of physical improvements over the Canon EOS 50D .

Canon EOS 60D with 18-135mm lens review

Superior ergonomics – particularly the bigger viewfinder and articulated screen – make this a shrewd choice for Canon upgraders willing to look beyond the 550D.

Canon EOS 60D Review

Announced in late August 2010 as the replacement for the 50D and "designed primarily for advanced amateurs," the Canon EOS 60D DSLR offers a modest resolution increase to 18 megapixels over the old camera's 15.1 as well as a 1080 HD video capability where none existed before.
Pros:
  • Swiveling monitor
  • Excellent image and color quality
  • Excellent high ISO noise performance for a cropped sensor
  • Good video image quality
Cons:
  • Slow AF acquisition time in video and Live View
  • No continuous AF in video mode
  • Awkward mode dial

Canon EOS 60D review

The Canon EOS 60D is not an impulse purchase by any means, a body-only version costing a wallet battering £800 Ours was supplied with a stunningly sharp 17-55m f/2.8 image-stabilised zoom (there's no body integral anti shake), at a price in the region of £1,600 if camera and lens are bought

Great Camera, Terrible Lens

The 2 lens that come with this bundle are garbage. both the 55-250mm and the 50mm lens have very narrow focal distances. Although the zoom is great, it is not practical at all when taking a normal picture. For scenery, portraits, or just some vacation photos, the lens are very inconvenient.

The announcement of the 60D caused a great deal of consternation, particularly amongst existing owners of the X0D series cameras. The slot in the market previously occupied by the 50D is now split between the 7D and the 60D, and the newer model is much more about broadening its appeal to less-expert...
Pros:
  • Excellent image quality up to ISO settings unthinkable just one camera generation ago
  • Extremely high detail and resolution at base ISO
  • good per-pixel sharpness
  • Very good low-light performance
  • with low noise levels and good retention of detail
  • Good ergonomics
  • well shaped and comfortable hand
Cons:
  • Slow AF in Live Mode reduces benefit of articulated screen for stills shooting
  • White balance often excessively orange under artificial light
  • Slight tendency to overexpose in contrasty conditions
  • Post-processing options oddly arranged (and don't provide access to the Ambience options
  • Plastic

This camera performs well with its DIGIC 4 technology, and the Canon EOS 60D professional DSLR camera is a solid choice for anyone looking to take high-quality pictures. We are disappointed that the speed has dropped to 5.3 images per second, while the 50D shoots 6.3 images per second.
Pros:
  • It features good imaging specs
  • improved battery life and HD video
Cons:
  • It has a smaller sensor size and is slower than the Canon 50D

Canon EOS 60D review: This digital SLR camera is perfect for anyone who's got more than just a passing fancy for photography

The Canon EOS 60D sits between the Canon EOS 50D and the Canon EOS 7D in Canon's mid-range digital SLR offerings, and it's a mighty beast to shoot with. It's fast, it has a vari-angle LCD screen, it can shoot high-definition video, and it has useful built-in image processing.
Pros:
  • Fast burst mode
  • excellent high ISO performance
  • hinged LCD screen
  • Full HD video recording
Cons:
  • Its buttons could be better
  • the 8-way control button feels terrible and doesn't always respond properly
