Pros:
- Excellent LCD screen in terms of resolution and shooting flexibility
- High ISO performance is impressive
- Very good picture quality without needing to alter the default values
- Creative filters are fun
- but probably better suited to an entry-level model
Cons:
- Body no longer made of magnesium alloy
- Some design quirks that affect usability
- Slow AF in Live View

- High resolution 18 Megapixel stills
- Flexible HD movies with mic input and audio levels
- Articulated screen with superb 3:2 panel
- 5.3fps continuous shooting and fast AF
Cons:
- No continuous AF while filming video
- Rocker control difficult to use
- A step down from the 50D in semi-pro respects
- Outclassed in some respects by D7000
