even sensor was dirty. So Canon spent fortunes on advertising at the ...

This is simply a note to buyers of these high-end Canon cameras in India. I bought the Mark 1 Canon 5D; after some 6 months it needed repair and was sent to a supposedly approved repair shop in Chennai, simply to have a cracked screen on the body replaced. After six months I got the camera back, (!

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV review

Canon's EOS 5D Mark IV is the long-awaited fourth model in the enormously popular series of full-frame DSLRs. Coming over four years after the previous EOS 5D Mark III, the Mark IV boosts the resolution to 30.4 Megapixels with a new full-frame sensor that supports Dual Pixel CMOS AF for confident...

High quality stills packed with detail and good dynamic range, 4k and 1080 video with confident subject-tracking and refocusing, 61-point AF system inherited from 1Dx Mark II; Great Live View focusing too, Large touch-screen allows you to tap to refocus and navigate menus, Built-in Wifi and GPS...

Dual Pixel RAW files offer very mild adjustments; 4k video employs a very tight crop similar to APS-C in size; 4k video employs a very high bit rate; No log profile; no 4k over HDMI; no focus-peaking or zebras; Screen doesn't tilt – less convenient for live view and movies; SD slot is only UHS-I...

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV ($3,499, body only) is the company's latest mainstream pro SLR . For the most part it looks and handles like its predecessor, the 5D Mark III , a plus for veteran photographers who know their camera by heart.

30MP full-frame image sensor; Fast 61-point autofocus system; 7fps continuous shooting; Unlimited JPG shooting buffer; Pro-grade build; Dual Pixel AF Live View focus system; 3.2-inch touch screen; Integrated GPS and Wi-Fi; CF and SD card slots

Cropped 4K video; Clean HDMI output is 1080p only; Dual Pixel Raw function slows camera and offers limited benefits; 4K video files are quite large; Omits in-body flash

Canon 5D Mark IV

The Canon 5D Mark IV offers a ton of new features and performance upgrades, but keeps things modest and familiar with its similar yet refined design. The fourth iteration of Canon's popular 5D series gains a new, higher-res sensor, a faster processor, a full touchscreen interface, built-in wireless...

Superb image quality from RAW files; Improved dynamic range; Excellent high ISO performance; Fast 7fps burst rate with unlimited JPEG buffer; High-quality cinema 4K video; Built-in Wi-Fi; Dual Pixel CMOS AF is very good

JPEG files look soft at default settings; 1/200s flash sync; 4K video codec is cumbersome; 29:59 continuous video recording limit

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Review

My expectations were that the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV was going to be at least as wildly successful as its predecessors were, but that expectation was not very hard to realize. The Canon EOS 5-series cameras have become synonymous with value and versatility.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

Canon's 5D Mark IV is a top performer - but you'll be paying a premium for it. Top-notch images are promised from this camera, which will be all too familiar to existing users of the 5D Mark III or 5D Mark II .

Full-frame sensor; Touchscreen is useful; Solid 4K video recording; Built-in Wi-Fi

Heavy; Expensive; Frame rate isn't particularly high

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV review: The 30-megapixel monster

Canon has stepped things up a gear in recent years by leading with higher-resolution DSLR cameras. It had long been said that the 24-megapixel mark would be the company's limit until lenses could make the best of the capture resolution - a concept that was not just slightly but entirely demolished...

Autofocus system rarely bettered in viewfinder or screen-based use; image quality is solid; clever Dual Pixel RAW re-focus; touchscreen works well

No vari-angle LCD screen; no light-up buttons; the 30MP sensor might be too high-res for some; 4K video has limited file types; expensive

Canon EOS 5D mark IV review

If there's one thing advanced enthusiasts and pro photographers are going to lust after this year, the 5D Mark IV is it. And with good reason: It's not necessarily an all-singing, all-dancing model, but what it does, it does extremely well.

Genuine improvements like touchscreen control; Dual pixel RAW is incredible (when it works; Fantastic video and still photo quality

New features mean a higher debut price; Some bugs to iron out in dual pixel RAW
