Great camera for the price
This camera is a Great value for the price. The only downfall is that this camera has no self cleaning,which isn't a huge deal.overall recommended to anyone looking for a quality entry level DSLR.

The Canon EOS 1000D was a fantastic camera, giving frugal shoppers a foothold onto the esteemed EOS range for a breakthrough sub-￡400 price. However, its 2.5in screen, lack of video capture and limited performance mean that it's not such a tempting prospect in 2011.

i bought this camera using money i had been given as graduation present, im new to the world of slr but thats ok because stick it on auto and away you go, and as i get more used to it i can start exploring the manual settings... cant wait!
little to get used to .once you get the base of it you be very happy
nice camera- at low light can be a handful- a little twitting and pictures come to life. the lens are a little pricey .canon has the best lens out there. setting can take a bit to get used to. as a starter, this camera works for me. a big update to my last camera.
Amazing!
This camera isn't very sensitive to shaking, which is good because my hands are the exact opposite of steady! Both lenses perform brilliantly and battery life is pretty good. And it's a good price for amateur photographers/film makers!
Perfect For All
I bought this camera last week from DickSmith. It is an AWESOME entry level camera. You quickly learn how to use it, and within hours your taking brilliant quality pics. This is my first foray into DSLR and this camera is making it very easy for me and is making me take more photos than ever before. The lens is a decent all purpose zoom very quick to zoom in and out from your subject, and focuses very quickly.
Excellent camera - but see details!
A fine entry level DSLR camera. Gives superb pictures, easy to use, but has plenty of more sophisticated features too. Canon doing what Canon do best. However, the first one was faulty - it came up with a software error message after every shot. But that's why I bought it from John Lewis!
