I find this lens very versatile. It is also not too bulky to bring on our regular dog park visits. I can take pictures of my dogs from different distances. It performs adequately for what I intended it for.

I use this lens more than my other ones. Good combination for many occasions. Still, I'm looking for an upgrade that'll probably cost more than my camera body.

The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS is the current generation budget "kit" lens for Canon EOS APS-C DSLRs. Compared to its predecessor Canon did not only improve the optical design - they also added an image stabilizer, changed the finish and introduced circular aperture blades for a better bokeh...

Doesn't fit my camera(mine only takes ef lenses not Ef-S)

I recently purchased a sweet Canon 400D /XTi Rebel from Amazon.co.uk (￡45 cashback!) and this standard zoom lens (Canon EF-S 18-55mm ) came with it. As far as I know, you cannot purchase the Canon EF-S 18-5mm on it's own, as it's designed specifically to be sold with the 400D/XTi Rebel package.

Bought this lens for my wife to put on my old T2i for starters. Both her and I were quite pleasantly surprised by the image quality that she achieved with this on her first day out! Wonderful starter lens to say the least. Humm... I may use this as well as a backup for my Sigma 17-70 2.8-4!

I actually dropped and broke this lens that came with my camera and had to replace with one from the store. The order to store option worked well, and did the trick.
