This was my first lens on my first Canon 70D. I was very happy with the way the lens focused, held focus and worked generally. Colours and contrast have always turned out very well.It is virtually silent for video.
Acceptable build quality Metal mount Very good image quality Good 'feel
None; given the price
Conclusions The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is a solid zoom lens. It delivers crisper images than the 18-55mm that ships with many entry-level Rebel cameras, and more than doubles its zoom range.
7.5x zoom ratio; Crisp optics; Smooth Live View focus; Optical stabilization; Power Zoom accessory available
Shows some distortion; Dim corners at widest aperture
This lens basically lives on my Canon C100. It has a great zoom range, it's lightweight, compact, and sharp. With the addition of the PZ-E1 Power Zoom Adapter, it operates much like an ENG lens, capable of smooth zoom shots.

Bought the latest Canon 18-135 Nano USM lens to replace the original 18-55 on my 550D. Also wanted to be able to use the lens for video work with a power zoom. This lens fits the bill perfectly.
Amazing price through Pixmania and came with an unexpected lens hood

Gary Wolstenholme takes a look at this lightweight 7.5x superzoom lens for EF-S compatible Canon cameras with Image Stabilisation.
Good resolution at optimum apertures; Lightweight design; Effective Image Stabiliser
Chromatic Aberrations at 18mm; Barrel distortion at 18mm; No lens hood supplied
I have had this lens for about a month now and used it quite a lot, I am taking photos almost every day. I also had the previous version of this lens which was OK but didn't get that much use.
The build quality of the Canon lens is slightly better compared to the typical low-end/"budget" class zoom lenses by Canon. The plastic quality is quite decent and the lens feels pretty "tight" in terms of build tolerances. The mount is made of metal.
