Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM

4.3
Verdict: The Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM is a very capable macro lens with a standout magnification of 1.2x and those innovative built-in LED lights. The Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM's build quality is good enough rather than outstanding, but it's still well-matched to the EOS M3 camera that we...

Canon EF-M 28mm F3.5 Macro IS STM

Verdict: The dew on a flower. The color of a cat's eye. The facets and sparkle of a diamond ring. Some ultra-close-up photos are difficult to capture with a standard lens. The compact EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM for EOS M series digital cameras is the world's lightest* autofocus lens and the world's first...

Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM

4.5
Verdict: I have almost no complaints about the EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM. It's small, inexpensive, sharp, and focuses almost right up to the front element. I can nitpick and say it's not an f/2.8 or f/2 lens, but it's tough to combine wide apertures with macro capability, and the high ISO capabilities of...
Pros: Edge-to-edge sharpness. 1.2x magnification. Integrated LED light. Smooth, silent focus. Image stabilization. Minimal distortion. Compact. Inexpensive
Cons: Dim corners when shooting Raw. Narrow maximum aperture. Plastic lens mount

Great for walk around macro with M series cameras

3.0
Verdict: The Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM is optimized for macro photography and only fits M series cameras like the EOS M3 and M5. It will not mount on Canon DSLRs. At a mere 130g, this lens is a featherweight.

Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM

4.5
Verdict: Very neat lens for the Canon mirrorless system. But come on Canon....... Let's get going with a few more lenses now. You've started to improve the selections, but you have s long way to go. And the Sony Olympus Fuji and Panasonic lines are all kicking your butt.
Pros: Very small. Very light. Great optics. Great led's. Great price. Extra 1.2x is very cool!. Collapsing lens makes for a very useful compaction of the camera. 28mm is a reasonable lens to carry around (I know I complained about it in the chins)
Cons: Led's are not very bright. No way to mount either the twin or macro Canon flash units. Filter mount requires "lens hood (if you can call it that). Lens hood obscures led's. Focal length is too short--28mm is still only 45mm. Doing at least 45mm (72mm) w

Nice little Macro Lens

4.0
Verdict: I purchased this lens to use on my Canon M5 Mirror less camera, and it is a perfect match. It is small, lightweight, and easy to use. Although it is not an EOS L lens, it does a very good job of taking sharp macro photos using it handheld in the distance mode or on a tripod in the close-up macro...
