Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM

The Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM ($399.99) is one of the better wide-angle zooms for any mirrorless camera system. It's compact, well-built, sharp, and doesn't show a lot of distortion, even at its widest angle.

Compact; Sturdy build; Crisp from edge to edge; Image stabilization

Fall-off is an issue when shooting Raw; Some distortion; Lens hood not included

Sharpest APS-C lens

Reading reviews on wide angle lenses, this Canon 11-22mm EF-M lens ranks higher than most all others, and in use, the sharpness does show, great color rendition too. Fits only Canon M series bodies though. Will not fit EF bodies.

Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 STM IS - Review / Test Report

No lens system is remotely complete without an ultra-wide angle option. While Canon doesn't seem to be overly enthusiastic about their EOS M lineup, they are recognizing the fact by offering the Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 STM IS.

Great coverage

Will use it a lot in museums and at car shows.

Nice sharp wide angle lens

Having to pay $29 for a lens hood that Canon should include

Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM

This was the 2nd EF-M lens that I purchased once I elected to adopt the Canon EOS-M system a few years ago. I enjoyed the optical qualities of the EF-M 18-55 and I believed that for a kit lens, it really surpassed my expectations.

Exceptionally small, solid construction; Superb optical clarity, and price

F4 - 5.6 (wish it was a bit lower like 3.5-4.5 - but then it would obviously cost more; Doesn't come with a lens hood

Outstanding performance and value. And very compact!

This is a real gem in Canon's EF-M line: smaller, cheaper and better performance than most of the competition! On the wide end, the lens performs surprisingly well wide open in low light and on the longer end, it actually edged out the 22mm pancake prime for stopped down landscape shooting!

A good lens

This lens is a sharp as a sharpened sharp thing and the way it retracts when not in use makes it very neat on the camera. I use it a lot when out and about.

While Canon's 18-150mm offering gives a colossal zoom range, this 18-35mm equivalent is the perfect choice if you're concentrating on landscapes. The f/4-5.6 aperture means sharp results at the heart of your image and the ultra-wide, 92° field-of-view ensures you have the scope to capture some...

Borrowed one so bought one

Very good quality and value for my EOSM3 which I use as a lightweight system alternative to my EOS1 and 5D3 when I am limited to carry on such as a recent sailing trip to Croatia. I borrowed one from a friend to compare against my 20 to 35L and 10 to 22 EFS with the M adaptor.

Durable; Great Picture Quality; Lightweight; Simple Controls

A Good Wide Field of View

I bought a Canon M5 camera and wanted a wide angle lens, which I use for 90% of my photos. It is very useful for landscapes and town and city shots. This lens made for the M series cameras is excellent.
