Great Lens
I took this lens with me to the zoo. Took photos and video with it. Fantastic output. I read a ton of reviews and was reluctant to buy it. Lot of reviews stating blurry focus and bad bokeh. You have to know how to adjust the settings for this lens. My photos came out sharp.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Heavy
- Lens Creep

Awesome Lens
One of the better Canon glass . Vastly reduces any camera shake and the pictures come out awesome due to negligable shake induced blur.. Tremendous in low light conditions and I have taken some fantasic pictures using this lens..

Great lens
The lens is amazing. The image stabilizer definatly helps clean up your shots. Also the lens can be locked at 70mm to prevent from sliding out. I was debating between this lens, and the 28-135 IS lens, but i choose this lens over it mainly for the longer zoom.
Pros:
- Image stabilizer
- Long range
- USM
Cons:
- Have to stand at least 5 feet away from subject to focus

At £432 the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens should come with a lens hood, but it doesn't. However, it does come with a soft case to protect against scuffs and scrapes and features an Ultra-low dispersion (UD) element and Super Spectra coatings to help reduce fringeing, ghosting and flare.

In September of 1995, Canon introduced a revolutionary new lens, the EF 75-300/4-5.6 IS USM. The revolutionary aspect of this lens was the incorporation of an optical image stabilizer system which allowed the lens to be hand held at shutter speeds two stops slower than could be done with a...

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens Review
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM replaces an earlier generation EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM model that was discontinued in mid 1990s. The lens is one of about a dozen telephoto zooms in Canon's modern lineup, and is one of the only two consumer (read non L, non DO) telephoto zooms that implement an...

Lens Test: Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM AF
This long, Tele stabilized zoom replaces Canon's popular 75-300mm f/4-5.6 full-frame IS lens, the industry's first IS/VR lens, introduced in 1995. The new model delivers better image stabilization (to three stops instead of two) and a wider zoom range.

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM was introduced in October 2005 to replaced the old Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM . Although superficially, this lens looks very similar to the 75-300mm that it replaced, optically and functionally, this is a totally new lens, completely surpasses the old lens...

Great Lens
If you're on a 1.3x or 1.6x crop body (the XTi for example) will give you 112-480mm, which is nice for the extra distance, however, if your wanting to be up with your family and friends and get full body shots you have to be standing quite far away.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality while not an L series lens with a wide aperture it still rocks in cloudy/low light conditions
- I've taken 2,000+ images with this lens and it has not let me down
Cons:
- Louder auto focus than other USM lenses, not by a lot though
- Autofocus hunts in lowlight at 300mm
