I use this for outdoor sports and love the image quality and the ease of use. I upgraded from the non IS to the IS some time ago and IQ is just as good.

Great build and image quality, especially sharpness and contrast; Light enough to carry around and hand-hold

None I can think of practically

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM review by cpe1991

I bought this lens for a safari holiday based on these reviews. They are right - it is a fantastic lens. It is relatively light and well balanced on my 7D and I can walk around all day with the camera in my hand. It is tack sharp at all focal lengths, excellent contrast and colour.

Superbly sharp; relatively light; useful range; superb IS

Part of Canon's professional L-series, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM boasts in-built image stabilisation. It's the IS in the name that distinguishes the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM from the cheaper 70-200mm f/4L USM.

The optical Image Stabilization in the new EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens provides up to an incredible four stops of shake correction-a first for Canon IS lenses. The use of fluorite UD lens elements provides excellent optical performance in terms of resolution and contrast.

Canon EF 70-200mm f4L IS USM

Canon's EF 70-200mm f4.0L IS USM really delivers the goods on both cropped and full-frame bodies. The range may not extend as far as 70-300mm models, but the optical quality is superb and as an 'L' lens, the build quality is also excellent.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM review

Canon's high-spec but lightweight telephoto zoom gets a major revamp and is full of new tricks to check out...

Fabulously sharp; Lightweight for a 70-200mm lens

Stabilization and AF doesn't outperform the equivalent Tamron lens
