I own this lens which works perfectly. Good thing is that, you will get sharpest image while cropping the aberrant sides and corners of the frame. Image quality is simply awesome. 5 stars for that. !!

This lens is very responsive. Beautiful pictures. The seller (Beach Camera) is awesome, and provides excellent customer service. I received it the day after I ordered, the lens comes with a bag and lens hood provided by Canon, an additional hood and bag are included by Beach Camera in addition to...
I need to purchase some additional lens filters and eventually I plan to upgrade to a full frame camera which is another reason in purchasing the "L" Series Lenses from Canon.
I am new to DSLR photography and about 1 year ago purchased the Canon T1i Kit; I then purchased the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens for outdoor shots; The pictures were fine and blew away any of the point-and-shoot pictures I have taken over the past 15 years.
None so far; I do have to purchase another camera bag for all three lenses
I LOVE TAKING THIS LENS WITH ME ANYTIME IM OUTDOORS LENS HAS EXCELLENT SHARPNESS & UNBELIVEABLE LIGHTNESS AS WELL!!!
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight; Magic Lens; Nice Bokeh; Rugged; Strong Construction
Ugh None Here
"Optically speaking this lens is second to none! However even while it is claimed to be of professional quality I have to disagree: It seems that the mechanical parts are not better than any cheap consumer grade lens. I happened to bang this lens against the railing on a ship while turning around.
The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM ($1,349 direct) isn't as lauded as the company's f/2.8 IS lens with the same zoom range, but it's priced about $650 less, making it an attractive option for shooters who can live with a slower lens.
Optical stabilization system; Fixed aperture through zoom range; Relatively light; Sharp images
Edges soft when zoomed; Adding a tripod collar is expensive

I bought this lens rather than the f2.8 version because of it's size and weight. If compared to the f2.8 version, this lens is approximately half the weight, and noticably smaller. This lens is a joy to hold and use because it's really light, and yet it produces outstanding pictures.
Very lightweight, built like a tank; Zoom ring and the focus ring are all smooth
Sound of the motor is audible
I love this camera... I take railroad photographs and it is awesome. Wish it had more mm, but for the price it is plenty. Photos are amazingly sharp, even with the 1.4x extender. Focus is fast and silent.
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Quick Focus; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
Heavy; Scratches Easily
