Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM review
Canon's high-spec but lightweight telephoto zoom gets a major revamp and is full of new tricks to check out...
Pros:
- Fabulously sharp
- Lightweight for a 70-200mm lens
Cons:
- Stabilization and AF doesn't outperform the equivalent Tamron lens

Love this lens
This is a fantastic lens! Possibly the best value in the Canon line. Quick accurate focus with beautiful results. It is f/4 so one has to understand limitations vs what a f/2.8 version may deliver, still I am able to achieve excellent images in challenging light with my 6D.
Pros:
- Quick Accurate Focus Lightweight multi-use price
Cons:
- none

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM
The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM ($1,349 direct) isn't as lauded as the company's f/2.8 IS lens with the same zoom range, but it's priced about $650 less, making it an attractive option for shooters who can live with a slower lens.

The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens captures impressively sharp images and is optically stabilized. It's a good option for shooters who can't afford an f/2.8 zoom. The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM ($1,349 direct)($1,199.00 at Amazon) isn't as lauded as the company's f/2.8 IS lens with the same zoom range, but it's priced about $650 less, making it an attractive option for shooters who can live with a slower lens. It is similar in design and price to the Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/4G ED VR($1,396.95 at Amazon) lens. It's compatible with full-frame Canon cameras, and can also be used with APS-C bodies, where it acts more like a 112-320mm lens due to the 1.6x crop factor. It's very sharp across the frame at its widest focal length, but performance at the edges suffers when set to 200mm. Like other Canon L zooms, the lens features a white finish rather than a traditional black. It measures 6.8 by 3 inches (HD) and weighs 1.7 pounds. A hood is included, but not a tripod collar. Adding one helps to better distribute weight when used with a tripod and adds $210 to the cost. It supports 67mm filters and can focus on objects as close as 3.9 feet; that's ...

Amazing Lens
Its compact size and Light weight can be deceiving when put next to its bigger brother, But at its f4 aperture the performance of this lens is truly amazing the IS system works well Testing it i went as low as 1/13 shutter speed at 200mm with IS on and it kept on taking usable images ..
Pros:
- Easy to use
- Compact
- Build quality

I own this lens which works perfectly. Good thing is that, you will get sharpest image while cropping the aberrant sides and corners of the frame. Image quality is simply awesome. 5 stars for that. !!

I believe I got mine in 2006 or 2007 and it has never disappointed. The f4 works for most outdoor use and it is a lens you can carry easily compared to the 2.8 with foot. The amazing quality really showed when I used it with my now retired film body, but also shows when my 17-85 is at telephoto and...
Pros:
- Amazing image quality and image stabilization
Cons:
- No weaknesses
- Nicking it on price would not be fair because the big white Canon lenses are top tier and it seems like they spare nothing to make them
