Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM review by waro52

Another awesome 70-200 zoom from Canon. I think this lens is sharper than my f4 IS version, which is incredible. For indoor sports it focuses quickly with no mircoadjustment needed on either of my bodies. The only bummer is it's weight. Small price to pay for the images it produces.

It might cost almost £2000, but with a fast, sharp, near-silent performance, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is definitely a lens for Canon owners to seriously consider… The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is a member of Canon's flagship L-series of lenses.

Incredible Lens - The Best of the Best

For the awesome image quality that this lens provide you, it should be heavy. It doesn't bothering me at all.

I will not talk about the lens I will leave the sampling photo talk about it.

"My ""Partner in Crime!"""

"One of the best tidbits of advice I have ever received was to buy this lens. And so I did from the Henry's booth at the Exposure Show (fall 2011). And I love it. And so I am passing the advice forward. This lens is the workhorse of my kit.

A Sharp Piece of Glass

I spent a long time deciding if the image stabilization was worth the price. I am glad I went with it. The images I have shot so far are awesome and action packed. An excellent lens.

If Calsberg made lenses...

This is an expensive lens however you could consider offsetting the cost by not needing/selling any prime lens within the given range. This lens performs as good as or very close to the primes.

Easily Interchangeable; Rugged; Durable; Strong Construction; Consistent Output; Fast / accurate auto-focus

Heavy

Great lens. Costs a fortune. People are always saying, go with the 70 - 200 f 4.0 L. It's lighter and more affordable, yes, but that's where the comparisons end. Read the lenstip review if you don't believe me.

Incredible images; Image stabilization....wow....I hear and see all these comments about how people should use tripos or use stabilizers with a telephoto lens of the length; Well I would have to say that, I cannot shoot hand held video without tripod or stabilizer on any of my L lenses except my 24...

No kidding it really is heavy; It is the only lens that I own where I can feel a bit of "play" with the way the lens fits on the body; I actually feel a bit uncomfortable carrying the of it around with just one hand on the camera body; I use a mark iii 5d
