Great lens

Just got this a few days ago and am enjoying it, it's quite heavy, but feels well put together and very solid. Optically it produces great results. Bought it with 20% off so made it very competitive and interest free over 12 months. Delivered as stated and well packed.

Stunning Wedding lens

Bit out of my comfort zone with a prime lens for weddngs but I thought I'd try the 50mm 1.2 out and oh how impressed I was and glad I've got a prime lens - still got a couple of zoom L lenses and they have their place for weddings, especially the 24-105L.

Amazing piece of Equipment

Sharp as a tack - even at F1.2 - incredible bokeh thats 2nd to none - a lens that TRULY delivers what a series piece of craftsmanship should.

Canon 50Lf1.2

"When using a narrow DOF setting you have to be careful as you could end up with part of a person face being in focus and part blurry. However that is part of owning a lens like this. Once you get to know just how low an aperture setting you can use - the results will be excellent.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens

The Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM lens was evaluated and was compared to the EF 50mm f/1.4 with respect to resolution, 50% MTF and bokeh performance. The primary question I wanted to answer was: Would the 1.2L outperform the f/1.4 USM lens at f/1.4 and f/2. The short answer is: Yes.

Canon EF 50 mm f/1.2L USM

In 2006 the range of classic 50 mm Canon lenses, although huge, seemed already a bit outdated. The cheapest model – the EF 50 MM F/1.8 II – although it features the II symbol in its name, is currently a twenty-year-old device. The EF 50 mm f/1.4 USM is just a bit younger but fast coming of age.

high build quality and very solid barrel; very good image quality in the frame centre from f/1.8 aperture upwards; decent image quality at the edge of the APS-C sensor; slight distortion on the smaller sensor; almost invisible coma in the APS-C sensor corner; negligible astigmatism; good work...

weak image quality at the edge of full frame; noticeable chromatic aberration; distortion on full frame could have been lower; high vignetting on full frame; bad price/quality ratio
