It fits tighter on my Canon Rebel EOS T2i than previous lens purchases

It's a wonderful product. Note – the Image stabiliser is amazing allowing you to shoot photos at speeds that are 4 stops lower. For example at 1/40 your photo would still be sharp.

I purchased this lens due to the multiplication factor of Digital Cameras. This lens works as a normal size focal length and the wide open f-stop gives it excellent used in low light situations. I'd recommend to family and friends.

Unlike Nikon, Canon decided not to drastically change the optical design of their budget prime lenses (24mm, 28mm, 50mm). This resulted in a series of lightweight and compact lenses with a classic feel. Personally, I think these primes have just the right size and shouldn't be any bigger.

Somewhat expensive

I bought this lens to use as a prime on my APS-C Canon and I was blown away by the sharpness of the images. Having never owned a prime before the lack of zoom was a minor annoyance at first, but I quickly got used to it. Cannot recommend this lens enough.

My recently aquired full-frame Canon 5D became an expensive Lady. But not unwanted. My 11-16 Tokina EF, at 15 "looks like" 11 does on my Rebel. That lens has been my prime one. I also wanted a not-so wide angle lens.

I love this lens, especially for the money. I'm an intermediate level, and now have several L lenses in my pack. Don't be deterred this is not an L series. It's a steal piece of glass at this price point. It's quiet, IS is very effective, AF fairly quick.
