I have used and using this lens for sometime now and its probably the best lens I have ever used, The image quality the sharpness is excellent, I am a beginner in photography and my experience with this lens has been fantastic Definitely a must have lens for all Canon SLR users
Canon introduced the 24-105mm L lens in 2005. The L stands for luxury, but the reality is that L lenses use low dispersion glass, which is optically far superior to standard glass. It runs about $1100 brand new retail, but most of them can be had new for $650-800.. 2nd hand $600-650.
Weathersealed, sharp, great color, Excellent Image Quality; Image stabilization, Great Value
Plastic; not 2.8 aperture; hood design with filters; loose distance ring
I do a lot of shoots where timing is of the essence and I can't afford to fooling about with primes and larger long lenses. This lens just gets the job done. Do you need a quick wide establishing shot Cool at 24 it's done. Would my 16 - 35 be better for this
Got this for my 70D a while back and the lens was an awesome upgrade for my camera. 70D has very good video features and this lens gives it a proper boost with the USM and the fixed aperture. Would highly recommend this lens to anyone looking to get a good L glass for a reasonable price.
Very good around unit this is my second EF 24-105 only after 30K photos and after 5 years of hard work did my first one get to a point where it need a major overhaul it was a new unit or an overhaul worth 2/3 the price of a new one not to much of choice.
Having owned this lens for a number of years, I can't speak highly enough of it. Using it mainly for video work paired with the 5D mk III, I have never had an issue. The build quality has never been in question, having survived multiple bumps and drops. I can't recommend this lens enough.
I had the Canon 17-40 and loved it but just needed more zoom for my main lens, that is why i decided on this one. It still gets wide enough but can zoom almost 3 times as far. Great lens, like any Canon L series lens will be.
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight; Rugged; Strong Construction
Lens Creep; Loud IS
First, I wish I could give this lens 4 1/2 stars but the ratings won't allow it. The only reason being, since it's a zoom, it can't be perfect. No zoom really is though some are closer than others. This one is close and though some may be closer, it boasts a good range and of course IS.
Replaced the 28-135 - image quality, especially sharpness, significantly increased. I am very happy...typical Canon quality.
