good for the prce
I own for this lens for more than one year and I say I like this lens so much. I use this for wild life photography and long distance shots. This lens is user friendly and less weight compared to competitors. down side of this lens is little bit noisy and slow auto focusing.- focal length and weight
- slow auto focus
Canon EF100-400mm F4 - F5.6L IS USM Lens
I have only had this for a short time and I am not an expert photographer by any means, but this lense adds a new dimension to my Photography and I am enjoying learning its capabilities, and trying to improve my own.- Consistent Output
- Strong Construction
- Heavy
Very nice zoom with very big reach, there is no alternative. I have had the 400 F5.6L but saw no better IQ. The IS makes it possible to work without a mono-pod, but you need daylight off-course. Nice zoom for a visit to the zoo for example.
- Nice reach
- good IQ even on a Fullframe
- solid build,IS
- IS shows it's age
- I need two hands to control the tightening ring
Great lens
Gives a wide range of distance for wildlife photography. It does get heavy after several hours.- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Easily Interchangeable
- Heavy
Great Wildlife Lens!
This is my main lens for photographing wildlife. This lens has been to the wilds of Alaska, Wyoming, and all the way back to Pennsylvania. I love it! The lens produces sharp images, even at extended full length.- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Rugged
- Heavy
Long Reach Zoom - Good for Sports
Purchased approximately 6 months ago to photograph my son's soccer team in action, this has been a good lens. In terms of features, it has 2 image stabilization settings, a close up focus limiter to save on battery power and is very well constructed. This is a tank of a lens.- Wedll constructed
- good reach
- sharp lens
- Needs tripod or monopod
- not as bright as some L lenses
