This Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens is a great lens to be owned by a professional photographer. It clicks pictures on different angles. The telephoto lens type is also great. This is an amazing lens.

Very nice zoom with very big reach, there is no alternative. I have had the 400 F5.6L but saw no better IQ. The IS makes it possible to work without a mono-pod, but you need daylight off-course. Nice zoom for a visit to the zoo for example.
Pros:
- Nice reach
- good IQ even on a Fullframe
- solid build,IS
Cons:
- IS shows it's age
- I need two hands to control the tightening ring

Smidigt och lättanvänt
Bra objektiv med trevligt zoomomfång. Skapligt snabb autofokus tycker jag.
Pros:
- Bra kvalitet både optiskt och mekaniskt
- Jag har haft mitt i mer än fem år och tycker det fungerar mycket bra
Cons:
- Jag har lite svårt för dragzoomen
- hade hellre sett en vridzoom
- men det kanske är svårt på dessa brännvidder

I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY THIS LENS FOR WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY!
This is a great lens with a near perfect reach for shooting most wildlife photography, at least for my needs. You will have to get used to the push/pull zoom style as opposed to the standard turn zoom but thats an easy adjustment to make. Enjoy the lens if you buy one!

Excellent! You get what you pay for.
My first "L" lens and wont be my last! Fast, precise and quiet auto focus. Love the two mode stabilizer to use with still or action shots. Use this also in bird photography, works wonderful!

I have only had this for a short time and I am not an expert photographer by any means, but this lense adds a new dimension to my Photography and I am enjoying learning its capabilities, and trying to improve my own.

- Consistent Output
- Strong Construction

Marvelous Pictures
Marvelous Pictures with this awesome lens! I agree with previous reviews that the lens is heavy but totally worth it! Must have for sports and action shots!

Very nice images.
There is a problem with this lens and that is it will not match all cameras unless you are lucky. What I mean by this is you may have to adjust your cameras micro adjustment to get the best out of it.

In the L series, I only have experience with the 70-200 f2.8 and this 100-400 lens. I originally wanted the 70-200. My husband (thinking bigger numbers must be better) bought me the 100-400 instead for my birthday. This turned out to be a blessing rather than a mistake.
Pros:
- Clear fully zoomed
Cons:
- Not good for low light
