I had a LiDE 110, and have a Xerox Documate 3125, and have had at least 3 other scanners. I'm not a neophyte. The scanner itself works well. The software is anything but user friendly. It is not even a little intuitive.

The Canon CanoScan LiDE 220 offers a lot more functionality than you'd expect from a $75 scanner. It can scan documents and photos at up to 4,800 dpi, and it provides basic options for touching up images, such as color correction and dust removal.

It fufils it's purpose on campus. Light and slim means it takes up little space on the workstation and can be stored away with ease when not in use

The set up was challenging because the enclosed paperwork was minimal. I went on-line and even there I could not figure out what this odd shaped plastic piece was used for. I called into customer service and they were very helpful and I was told it was a stand for vertical scanning.

This scanner is very easy to use. Especially useful are the buttons on the front that allow you to scan multi-page documents directly to PDF. It's relatively fast too.
