Canon Canoscan 5600F Scanner [REVIEW]
Looking over my shoulder recently, I was surprised at how much I have come to depend on a scanner. Early on, I had a love/hate relationship with desktop scanners, mainly because of their early and fiddly operating software. And don't bring up the topic of dedicated film scanners!

horrible experience with Canon (and this thing is noisy too!)
Hi everyone, I just had a horrible experience with Canon I thought I'd share with you, hopefully preventing anybody else there to have the same experience. Last week I bought a Canon scanner CanoScan 5600F online via Officeworks.
Cons:
- Noisy
- horrible support

A pleasure to use
The CanoScan 5600F is far easier to use than my old scanner and actually does scan slides and negs as well as the usual. Thus far, neg scans have been noticeably poorer in quality than the, very good, slide scans - could be the film or the storage, too early to say.

Bulky
It is not fast as I believed. The 3200 was as quick however the dpi was lower. Also the glass surface for docs was longer and I was able to use longer (obviously) documents to scan. Why did they have to change a good thing for so-so interface? I would NOT recommend this unit.
Pros:
- Good quality scan
- as always from Canon
Cons:
- I had a LIDE first and when it got obsolete due to windows newer ver
- I bought the 3200F which was even better
- However I recently broke the glass and thought about fixing but since it was old I decided to get a newer one which was on sale
- After reading the specs I decided to go for it.

Canon CanoScan 5600F
Any flatbed scanner is technically suitable for all-purpose scanning, since you can scan anything on it. But some are clearly targeted more for some uses than others. A case in point is the Canon CanoScan 5600F ($149.99 direct), which focuses on photos, and does its job well enough to deliver...
Cons:
- Scans only four slides or one strip of film at a time
- Dust and scratch removal feature does little for scratches

Canon Scanner
Expected more of the software, but still a big fan.
Pros:
- Very practical
- only USB
Cons:
- The software is so crap.

Does what it's supposed to do
I used this to scan 35mm slides, 35mm color negatives and color slides, as well as 110mm color negatives (although this isn't part of the specifications). In order to scan 110mm negatives and have better control of the scanner's resolution and advanced features, you need to use the "Scanner Driver"...
Pros:
- Accurate Color
- Easy Setup
- Good Bit Depth
- Good Resolution

Good but software needs refinements.
Shortcut buttons for pdf functions lead to screens with confusing results. You're better off going through the program button on the dock.
Pros:
- Easy To Set Up
- Good Resolution
Cons:
- Poor Software

Better than the small handheld scanners
Does a good job with prints or slides, scans of negatives are overexposed and washed out. I bought 2 of these and the both do the same thing. Print scanner software is great and auto crops prints. The organizer software is clumsey and convoluted.

Goood!
canon canoscan 5600F scanner is considerable you can say its image quality is good as cannon is famous for its image quality so its good, and its scanning speed is also good as it doesn't take so much time, its colour accuracy is fine and decent means you dont have to face problems like the colour...
