Call of Juarez: The Cartel - The Parent's Guide to Video Games

- These games are characterized by the viewpoint and weapons used in the title. In a first person shooter, you are looking down the barrel of a gun as though you yourself are holding the weapon. Likewise, as the term "shooter" implies, the game specifically uses guns and firearms.

Unimpressive Shooter

Game allows you to play as one of the 3 main characters. The Hispanic character has a permenant Cheshire cat expression. It allows you to skip the video play during the level. The characters continually give each other a hard time through repeating redundant lines. Adult content with brief nudity.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel

I really enjoyed the last Call of Juarez game, Bound in Blood. It was a great western game with an interesting cast of characters and some fantastic gunplay. When I heard they were mixing things up with The Cartel by bringing the series into present day Mexico, my immediate thought was why fix what...

Review: Call of Juarez: The Cartel (360/PS3)

A by-the-books shooter from beginning to end, Call of Juarez: The Cartel swaps the Wild West setting and interesting characters of its predecessors to become a stale, but serviceable, shoot-'em-up.

Can co-op through the main campaign; parts where you get to shoot stuff aren't bad

Call of Juarez: The Cartel

Gameplay: While the gameplay isn't all that bad there are a few things that make it frustrating. CoJ pretty much plays as your standard FPS with some control modifications to feel like its different "Y" is reload and still after playing this game 3 times I couldn't get used to get.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel

I don't have any experience with the Call of Juarez series. A cursory glance online tells me that it's a wild-west shooter, with varying levels of success. A cursory glance at The Cartel tells me that the man on the cover wearing bullet-proof armor with POLICE emblazoned on the front is probably not...

Interesting co-op mechanics; fast-paced Objective multiplayer mode

Low production values; intermittent framerate stuttering; low-quality graphics; poor pacing; linear and repetitive level design

Call of Juarez: The Cartel

Nearly a quarter century again Midway released a questionable action game called NARC. This ultra-violent arcade game had a pair of overly sensitive cops blow up anybody that even thought about picking up a crack pipe or bong.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel

In a moment of pure glee, a grenade bounced on an enemy's head, killing him – unexpectedly awarding the " kills with grenade" trophy – before falling under a car, taking out three more enemies. This, by far, was 200,000 times better than anything else that Call of Juarez: The Cartel has to offer.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel

The story gets a little interesting, particularly the way each character is shady and has a different viewpoint with no-one getting the full picture, but there's not enough to make me want to play it again to find out the rest.

Call Of Juarez: The Cartel Review

I have a soft spot of " Call of Juarez: The Cartel ". It has a good story to tell, and manages to incorporate a lot of this in to its pacing, game play and co-op multiplayer. However, if I were to remove the story and assess it on purely technical grounds it is something of a mess.
