Process of elimination-Call of Duty Black Ops 4 review

My experience with Call of Duty Black Ops 4 has been extremely positive, and I'm having a blast with the game. Don't let the fact that there's no campaign fool you into thinking that this year's offering is light, there is a ton of content that will take even harcore players time to tap into.

Multiplayer is rock-solid and more tactical and better paced than it has been in years; Specialist HQ may be one of the best tutorial packages in a COD game ever; Zombies still has a ton of content; but split into three more bite-sized experiences; Blackout is a great new entry into the Battle...

Local play MP is unplayable due to horrible framerate; The overarching narrative in Specialist HQ is fairly incoherent; Zombies Rush mode strips away too much of what makes Zombies good; Blackout feels a little undercooked

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Review – A New Breed of Triple Threat

The Black Ops 4 map and mode combo is one of the most compelling Call of Duty launch day line-ups that I've ever experienced. Usually, there's a map or two that I will hate from day one or a mode that I'll just outright avoid forever, but Treyarch has exceeded expectations here.

Multiplayer; Blackout; and Zombies are the ultimate triple threat; Blackout is a superb first-time effort at battle royale; Tutorials are fantastic to see; Absence of story mode is made up for

Lack of cosmetic unlocks for Operators; Bots suck most of the time; Plenty of bugs; glitches; and crashing issues need fixing; Tags

PS4 Review - 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4'

Buy Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 For over a decade, Call of Duty has been a fixture in people's homes thanks to its tense action, satisfying gunplay, and rich multiplayer options. Activision's flagship franchise has seen annual fall releases since the series launched in 2003, and 2018 is no exception.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 review: a polished, pulsating battle royale

One of my favourite things to do in Blackout, Call of Duty's take on battle royale, is to crash through windows. I know it makes a lot of noise, I know it alerts nearby enemies to my position and I know there's a door right next to the window. But I just can't help myself. Sprint, vault, smash!

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review – PS4

Fall is upon us, and along with the dropping leaves and temperatures comes the yearly installment of Call Of Duty. This year it belongs to Treyarch's Black Ops 4 . In a Call Of Duty first, Black Ops 4 is the first of the series to ship without a traditional campaign, but it's also is the first to...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review

There's no denying Call of Duty is a well put-together AAA game. In my first few hours with Call of Duty Black Ops 4, the most consistently noticeable aspect was how slick everything felt, exuding quality all over the place like a big ol' quality hose.

Smooth gunplay; Excellent level design; Story woven through all three branches of multiplayer; A great reinvention of a slightly stale franchise

No single player campaign

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review – Keeping Up With The Times

Booting up a new Call of Duty game often conjures up a feeling of deja vu. Part of me is teleported back in time to 2009, playing hours on end of Modern Warfare 2 on a warm school night, crafting makeshift aluminium Wi-Fi boosters to maintain a faster connection. Fortunately, a lot has changed.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 review

The tightest gun play a Call of Duty game has delivered in a long, long time - perhaps ever.

Exceptional gun-feel; Superb balancing; Great audio

Zombies can feel overly obtuse; Tone of Specialists HQ is a little off; Story stuff hidden in hard to detect challenges

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review

For a series as consistent and often evolutionary as Call of Duty, Black Ops 4 is easily the most disruptive game since Advanced Warfare. The lack of a single player campaign came out of the blue and is a disappointment in many ways, but in its place Treyarch have bolstered some other sections of...

Blackout is a damn good Battle Royale; Multiplayer blends BO3's characters with BO2's ground combat; Fluid and forgiving movement; Plenty of Zombies to sink your teeth into

Player progression is lacking; confusing or just dated; Blackout needs more direct content; Weirdly tacked on tutorial story
