Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 review: a polished, pulsating battle royale

One of my favourite things to do in Blackout, Call of Duty's take on battle royale, is to crash through windows. I know it makes a lot of noise, I know it alerts nearby enemies to my position and I know there's a door right next to the window. But I just can't help myself. Sprint, vault, smash!

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review – PS4

Fall is upon us, and along with the dropping leaves and temperatures comes the yearly installment of Call Of Duty. This year it belongs to Treyarch's Black Ops 4 . In a Call Of Duty first, Black Ops 4 is the first of the series to ship without a traditional campaign, but it's also is the first to...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Zombies Review

Black Ops 4's Zombies is the showcase of a confident team that has iterated and improved the formula they created. The addition of a tutorial, a more streamlined single player experience, and a wealth of match customisation shows Treyarch wants everyone to experience what the studio has been...

Process of elimination-Call of Duty Black Ops 4 review

My experience with Call of Duty Black Ops 4 has been extremely positive, and I'm having a blast with the game. Don't let the fact that there's no campaign fool you into thinking that this year's offering is light, there is a ton of content that will take even harcore players time to tap into.

Multiplayer is rock-solid and more tactical and better paced than it has been in years; Specialist HQ may be one of the best tutorial packages in a COD game ever; Zombies still has a ton of content; but split into three more bite-sized experiences; Blackout is a great new entry into the Battle...

Local play MP is unplayable due to horrible framerate; The overarching narrative in Specialist HQ is fairly incoherent; Zombies Rush mode strips away too much of what makes Zombies good; Blackout feels a little undercooked

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Infinity Ward pulled us into the Call of Duty franchise with the first entry back in 2003, taking it to another level with the now legendary Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare . Unfortunately, the latter's success took Activision down a road where each new entry pulled the series in a new direction,...

After many a leak , rumour , and speculation , Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC is finally here. Like past entries in the popular military shooter franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has a multiplayer mode as well as Zombies, the cooperative gameplay mode.

Thoughtful gear placement in Blackout mode; Diverse Specialists; Zombies mode is as bizarre as ever; Slick gameplay

No single-player campaign; Expensive in certain markets; Ridiculous day one patch

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review

After a disappointing couple of releases in Infinite Warfare and World War II, the Call of Duty series has finally reigned me back in with Black Ops 4. Treyarch's latest may be lacking in any sort of single-player offering, but beneath that is an absolute wealth of content for those wanting to dive...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review – An Unrivaled Multiplayer Shooter

I'll be the first to admit, I was super bummed when it was revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 would not have a single player mode. I may have been in the minority, but I enjoyed those mindless 6-8 hour action packed roller coaster rides through epic set pieces and cheesy dialogue.

Blackout is awesome; Zombies looks incredible; A multiplayer shooters delight

No single player sucks; Blackouts visuals are not the sharpest; Expensive COD game after DLC and Micros

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 review – something lost, something gained

Call Of Duty may no longer have a chokehold on the shooter genre, but this year's entry shows it's not about to surrender its crown just yet.

Blackout is a surprisingly brilliant alternative to Fortnite and PUBG; Treyarch's competitive multiplayer is also a triumph, encouraging tactical team play without compromising Call Of Duty's core DNA

Attempts to create a backstory are shockingly bad; Without a campaign, those who dislike the series' Zombies mode may also feel short-changed
