Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Sony PlayStation 3)

Call of Duty: Black Ops II does enough to put itself above its predecessors without alienating series veterans who have come to expect certain things from the franchise. The new Scorestreaks, Pick 10 system, and campaign changes have made this a good step in the right direction.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

And so the institution rolls on. Black Ops 2 , in thematic solidarity with the sacrifices of its protagonists, will likely not be remembered among the best of its brethren. And yet, the best Call of Duty installments yet to come will succeed because of the work that Treyarch has done here.

PlayStation 3 Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Entire articles have been written about Activision, Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and the Call of Duty series in general. I won't cover too much of it except to say that in my opinion, Treyarch now makes the superior Call of Duty game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II PS3 Review

Call of Duty has become something of a seasonal affair these days. People expect a new iteration to roll around in much of the same fashion as an Apple addict might await the new iPhone .

FREEZES CONSTANTLY

I hope Activision Reads This.

GREAT GAME

Need to get their stuff straight; HOW MANY CODs have been released! And the game freezes; FREEZES: Campaign, MultiPlayer, ALL THE TIME; Not only does it freeze but you have to hard reset machine and waight 5 to 10 min for system to restore

COD: Black Ops II

Call of Duty isn't done their tour yet, as we see yet another variant in the best-selling series back on store shelves. This time Treyarch is playing general, with a followup to the time-splitting "Black Ops".

Treyarch adds some new elements to the traditional COD gameplay; Take it or leave it; Strike Force offers up a new way to play; Interesting duality between the two eras; both in gameplay and it story; New competitive online tweaks keep this A class multiplayer destination; Branching storyline auntie...

For the most part; the "mature" graphic content is unnecessary; Below expectations; the graphics engine is starting to show its age; Strike Force is an acquired taste that some will likely love or hate; Unbalanced missions and content; some are way better than others; Zombie mode feels as undead as...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (PS3) Review

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get a chance at a playthrough of the Xbox 360 version of Black Ops 2 while in Carlsbad, California. At the time, I was impressed with how Treyarch managed to introduce some alternate endings influenced by player choice to the single player experience.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Review

The Call of Duty franchise is notable for several reasons, among them the fact that they have such a huge stable of releases with only a relatively small dip in quality. These dips are not uncommon with long-running franchises, with both developer ennui and publisher restrictions contributing to the...

● Zombies! ● Multiplayer is much more rewarding ● Production value is high; as usual

● Cookie-cutter shooter campaign ● Some definite improvements; but no real innovation

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Review | Looking to the Future

Subtle is never a word I thought I'd use to describe any element of a Call of Duty game, but the pre-title cutscene that paints a picture of how Black Ops II's villain was formed is beautifully put together, in no short thanks to an excellent song choice with Elbow's ‘The Night Will Always Win.

More loadout freedom than ever in SP and MP; Campaign has more open approaches to stages instead of usual corridors; Pedal to the metal fun in the campaign and excellent multiplayer matches

Choices options in campaign not that involving; Zombies mode currently broken; Challenges poorly indicated in campaign
