Better thermal vision than the Predator; Properly rugged, will survive a real beating; Battery life for days;

If you're reading this in a coffee shop sipping a skinny mocha Frappuccino, the Cat S60 is probably not for you. This beastly device was launched yesterday at The Tin Factory in Sandton, bringing with it extreme ruggedness, top of the line waterproofing, as well as a thermal image camera.
Solid and well constructed; great onboard sound; thermal imaging camera can make a difference; good specs
Smallish screen; heavy; pricey
If you need a super-rugged phone with a built-in thermal imaging camera, look no further than the Cat S60. But at $600, it's nearly as pricey as top-tier devices like the rugged Samsung Galaxy S7 Active and the shatterproof Moto Z Force Droid, both of which offer far better performance all around.
Accurate thermal imaging camera; Rugged, waterproof build; Useful pre-installed apps; Latest Android software; Expandable storage
Sluggish camera sensors; Mediocre specs for the price; Back flap can pop open upon impact; Lackluster call quality
After a day's use + Quick + Infrared camera, sick cool :) + hearty + Programmable button - Great! So did not think it was such a block :) my old phone is a Sony Z3 compact, and it is smaller in every way despite the same screen size.
I've had this phone for 5 days and I liked it. Unfortunately, it wouldn't turn on anymore after those 5 days. The manufacturer has reinstalled the software and now it works again!
Long battery life
Nice IR cam
Last month the Cat S60 was introduced in South Africa. It's one of those handsets that is not aimed at the regular consumer, but rather to professionals in very specific fields, like construction, mining, etc.
Cat phones of the past have never been about having the best specifications, more about having the toughest phone build on the planet. That is also sort-of true with the Cat S60: a super-tough phone which recently became available for pre-order in the UK.
Incredibly durable build; can survive being in water up to 5m; long battery life; thermal imagery
Screen is small; bulky build; performance is hit-and-miss
The Cat S60 offers something that no other smartphone has offered before – a built-in thermal imaging camera. We went hands-on with the Cat S60 at MWC to see if it can compete with its rivals. In this Cat S60 review we consider Cat S60 design, features, hardware, UK release date and pricing.
Article Contents 1 Specs 2 Design and Display 3 Cameras 4 Performance and battery 5 Software 6 Conclusion The Cat S60 is the very first Cat phone we've reviewed on Android Police, and it should be obvious why. These are niche devices that mainstream consumers mostly don't care about.
Cat's S60 smartphone is designed to take a beating and keep working, with the added benefit of an infrared camera.
It has a Flir camera; Need I say more, Waterproof up to an hour, Battery life that keeps going, and going, and going
Big; heavy and cumbersome; Not the fastest phone on the block; Expensive
