If your work regularly takes you away from home and office, you may well need to be able to produce hard copy on the move. There are a small number of portable printers available and these use one of two technologies. There are miniaturised inkjet machines and there's thermal print.

The Brother PocketJet PJ-663 is a direct thermal printer that is incredibly small and portable. In fact, when Brother sent it to us we thought they'd just sent a toner cartridge or something by mistake. We wondered how a printer could fit in a box so small.
This is a fantastic little piece of kit. It's reliable and incredibly small. I print using my netbook and everything couldn't be easier. The paper's stored inside in a little roll which means I don't have to carry it about. It's a thermal printer which means you don't need any kind of ink or toner.
This ltttle thermal printer is cordless. It uses bluetooth to print and has a battery with acceptable life for moderate use. Great for printing invoices and quotes while on location as long as one can live with the expense and shelf life of thermal paper.
