Brother MFC-9970CDW

Add the Brother MFC-9970CDW ($700 street) to the small, but growing, list of desktop laser MFPs that include a color touch screen on the front panel. As with the others, including the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw color MFP ($449 list, 4.0 stars) for example, the touch screen itself is a highly...

Fast; Touch screen for easier scanning, faxing, and copying from the front panel; Prints from and scans to USB key; Direct Email

Output quality is a touch below par for graphics and significantly below par for photos

Brother MFC-9970CDW

Brother's stated desire to get into the workgroup printer and multifunction market has been well realised with its new range of machines. At the top of these, the MFC-9970CDW is a multifunction with all the trimmings.

Quality Brother Color Printer

Our company has 4 models of Brother printers, including this one. I have to say that compared to other brands, such as HP, there is no comparison in my mind as to the better brand. We have had no problems with the Brother printers, they have run flawlessly to date.

Nice printer

This is a very nice printer. The best option that it has , is the emailing your documents directly to your email. It does everything and more. The only negative this is that it is too big. You will need a large desk to accommodate the size.

direct emailing double side printing

too big

70lbs of features, limited control

Turns out that all of the documents scanned are stored in 1 image.pdf. No way to make each document a separate file, AND there is no way to change the name of the file. So even emailing each document one at a time results in lots of emails with the same file name. Might as well revert back to FAX.

3,000 characters is not enough to describe the good and bad of this beast; You can visit the Brother website for the many positive qualities of this machine; There is a reason this machine has 4 manuals, each 100+ pages; It does come with a quick setup, and one of the 4 large manuals printed.

I am required to submit documents to the home office; The scan to email was a great feature, I can loose the fax line completely.
