Brother MFC-9970CDW

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: Add the Brother MFC-9970CDW ($700 street) to the small, but growing, list of desktop laser MFPs that include a color touch screen on the front panel. As with the others, including the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw color MFP ($449 list, 4.0 stars) for example, the touch screen itself is a highly...
Pros:
  • Fast
  • Touch screen for easier scanning, faxing, and copying from the front panel
  • Prints from and scans to USB key
  • Direct Email
Cons:
  • Output quality is a touch below par for graphics and significantly below par for photos

Quality Brother Color Printer

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: Our company has 4 models of Brother printers, including this one. I have to say that compared to other brands, such as HP, there is no comparison in my mind as to the better brand. We have had no problems with the Brother printers, they have run flawlessly to date.

Nice printer

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: This is a very nice printer. The best option that it has , is the emailing your documents directly to your email. It does everything and more. The only negative this is that it is too big. You will need a large desk to accommodate the size.
Pros:
  • direct emailing double side printing
Cons:
  • too big

70lbs of features, limited control

★★★★★ 3.0
Verdict: Turns out that all of the documents scanned are stored in 1 image.pdf. No way to make each document a separate file, AND there is no way to change the name of the file. So even emailing each document one at a time results in lots of emails with the same file name. Might as well revert back to FAX.
Pros:
  • 3,000 characters is not enough to describe the good and bad of this beast
  • You can visit the Brother website for the many positive qualities of this machine
  • There is a reason this machine has 4 manuals, each 100+ pages
  • It does come with a quick setup, and one of the 4 large manuals printed.
Cons:
  • I am required to submit documents to the home office
  • The scan to email was a great feature, I can loose the fax line completely.

Terrible Printer

★★★★ 1.0
Verdict: Purchased this printer for our business to print checks and accounting paperwork. The printer always jams when you put more than three pieces of paper in the manual feeder, the paper is not a heavy weight.

Amazing

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I bought this product for an inexpensive way to print marketing material, and it has exceeded my expectations. The speed, price per page and quality of printing make this the best printer for it's price point.

Great brand-new MFC laser machine at a very fair price!

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I've only had the printer a couple of weeks, but--so far--it works like a dream! It replaced an earlier version of a Brother MFC color laser that died. It's amazing how much easier this one was to install and begin using--didn't need to complete any of the cumbersome steps I had to take with the old...

Great All-in-one printer

★★★★★ 2.0
Verdict: I had this printer recommended to me by someone who manages these things in busy IT departments. Taking into account the limitations of colour laserjet technology the quality is great. I bought this particular model because of the double-sided scanner facility with automatic document feed.

Brother MFC-9970CDW

★★★★★

  • 5-inch color touch screen
Cons:
  • Mediocre graphic quality

Brother MFC-9970CDW

★★★★★ 4.5
Verdict: Purchased this to replace an old Brother Multi Function that had been squeaking when the ADF was used to scan, copy, or fax, but which had been a real workhorse for years. The biggest plus on the new one is the scan speed which is much faster than the previous model.

Perfect for our small office needs

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: Scanning and duplexing works very well; very quick and good reproduction. Two-sided faxing capability is great. Printing is sharp for text and business graphics. Color printing is good for a laser. Not sure about toner life, or maintenance yet as I've only had it for a few weeks.
