Though it seems like a quality grill, the cleaning features were not as expected. When I ordered it I saw reviews talking about the removable grill plates that were dishwasher safe. The BSG520XL does NOT have removable grill plates.

I love this sandwich press. We had the exact same one back home in Australia (mum has had it for 10+ years and it always worked like a charm). Always makes consistent toasted sandwiches and is just delicious!!!

We are enjoying lots of easy cheese toasties for back to school breakfasts.

"I made lunch on the Toast and Melt yesterday after bringing it home. It heats quickly, produces a beautiful even browning and doesn't squash the sandwich flat, unlike some others. I particularly like the ability to set the height of the top plate to accommodate different types of bread.

This is a good value for money item. Well designed and constructed albeit attention to finish detail could be improved somewhat. But all said and done, it does the job as intended. Have not had this item for very long so have not used it much so time will tell. But so far, all good.
