We are a great believer in Breville products and after we had a problem with our previous Breville electric kettle/jug, that is, the hinge system on the lid broke and prevented it from opening, we decided to purchase another Breville electric kettle/jug, the Crystal Clear model. The product works well except that condensation forms on the observation window of the lid and when the lid is opened to refill the kettle often a water drip will be released from the observation window onto the top of the kettle which sometimes flows down the side of the kettle and onto the electric base resulting in a potential danger apart from having to wipe away the moisture.

I bought this a few weeks ago and after a week it started leaking all over the base. Got it replaced and now replacement is leaking. I owned the previous crystal clear model and it was brilliant for two years, no issue but just stopped turning on one day. Sadly, I’ll be returning this tomorrow for a refund.

I got two kettles, and both of them leaked. Never buy it again

Bought this kettle less than 1 month ago and now it leaks!!! Was expecting that Breville products would be quality and durable. However, thats not true at all!!!!

Compared to previous kettles I've purchase, this one takes a little longer to boil from cold, but that is the only negative thing I can say about this kettle. It looks great, boils to the perfect temperate for a cup of tea and can be quite mesmerizing to look at while it is doing its job. Once you have boiled the jug for the day, it doesn't take long at all for subsequent boils as it retains temperature very well.
