Less than 5 year life span

Like the esppresso machine I bought, it failed after less than five years (gear box). I paid premium price for junk. Ironically I gave away my 30+ year old Kenwood mixer and 15 year old espresso. I now have to go to my friends for a espresso and cake.

Less than 5 year life span

Worst appliance ever owned. Gear box failed after only 4 1/2 years. Price to fix $285 (throught it away). Sadly ironically gave my 30year old Kenwood away when I bought this. My friend has a good reliable mixer and I have junk.

Fantastic product

I love this product, the scraper blade really does what it says and I have noticed a huge difference in the lightness of my cakes. No negatives at all, it is worth every penny and the recipes from Heston's book on the website are impressive as well. I really am delighted with my purchase.

Makes baking even better

I was torn between a Kitchen Aid and the Breville mixer. After much debate, I decided on the Breville because the cord can be tucked into the stand. The performance is great and it looks great sitting out in my kitchen.

" Great quality "

First off, this is a really high quality product. The brushed metal finish looks excellent, it's got a powerful motor that's happy to mix even fairly thick dough, and it feels like it's going to last forever.
Pros:
  • Easy to use
  • Good build quality
  • Quiet
  • looks good
Cons:
  • some minor usability issues

A dream come true!

I have always dreamed about getting a stand mixer and finally decided to go for it. I liked the looks of the Breville mixer and the price was more reasonable then the other ones I was comparing it to on Ebay. I am very pleased with its performance. I especially like the scraper beater and the timer.

Breville (BEM800)

Pros:
  • This mixer has a sleek design – the brushed stainless steel finish hardly shows streaks and fingerprints, so it is easy to clean
  • If you want an affordable, stylish mixer that works effectively, this model is worth considering.
Cons:
  • The whisks were slightly tricky to insert
  • When we made the pastry some flour splattered out of the bowl at the start and the pastry didn't come together very nicely, so we had to form a dough by hand
