Review: Bowers & Wilkins P5 Headphones

You can get a great set of over-the ear headphones for $100 or less - pick up Grado's SR60i or Shure's SRH440, and you'd need a keen ear and a petrified ass to muster any sonic gripes. So spending three times that much would seem downright stupid.

Sounds so sweet, you'll want to re-rip your entire music library into lossless files; Memory foam earpads block a ton of ambient noise; Go ahead and wear 'em in public - the low-profile headphones won't make you look like a ham radio operator.

One small gripe: The tiny sub-earpad tab that holds the cable in its routing channel is poorly machined and sharp enough to cut the rubber cord jacket; Pricey? Yep; Worth it? No doubt

(1 items) British high-end-audio manufacturer Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) has been making speakers for over 40 years, but it's only with the P5 Mobile Hi-Fi Headphones , announced last November , that the company has ventured into the field of private audio listening.

Bowers & Wilkins P5

If you dress in Armani suits, drive a BMW Z4 Roadster and commute to work in your own private yacht, the B&W P5s are the only choice of headphone for you.

iPad-friendly

Price; microphone sits a little low

Great Match for iPad

This review is from: Bowers & Wilkins P5 Mobile HiFi Stereo Headphones I bought these when I got my iPad for a brief hospital stay and they performed flawlessly with very deep bass and gentle treble; because of the microphone in the default cable, they can be used as a headset with an iPhone or with

No more cans of baked beans strapped to my head!!!!

After 6 months of deliberation I finally took the plunge!!. I was already a devotee of B & W as a Zepellin user, and was not disappointed. Firstly the design is a class leader, and comfortable. A little tight but no doubt the set will loosen up with up with time.
