Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless headphone review

It's hard to write anything new about the Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless headphone because so much of what needs to be said has already been said-twice! My review of the P5 Wireless is based on the P5 Series 2 which in turn was largely based on my impressions of the original P5.

B&W kept the excellent P5 sound; even when wireless; Convenience of Bluetooth; Lightweight; Comfortable; Exquisite materials and build quality

Expensive; Bag looks more like a purse than a protective bag

Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless Headphones Review

We're no strangers to high-end headphones, so when Bowers & Wilkins sent over its latest wireless headphones, we knew we were in for a special treat. The P5 Wireless are an icon brought back to the 21st century.

Bowers & Wilkins P5 Review

A few months ago, I bought a pair of the Bowers & Wilkins P5 headphones .  The headphones retail for $299.95 (a bit expensive, but so worth it).  The B&W P5′s are noise isolating headphones and are dubbed as a "Concert for One".  Let me tell you, these bad boys are just that.

B&W P5 Wireless

When a hi-fi manufacturer of Bowers & Wilkins' pedigree makes something a little different, we sit up and listen. This time, though, we find ourselves sitting up with additional comfort and freedom of movement, because the company has entered the Bluetooth headphone market.

Excellent sound; Lovely design and build; Easy Bluetooth operation

Nothing of note

Bowers and Wilkins P5 headphones

The B&W P5 aren't designed to be a reference grade headset for your home recording studio, which some might have expected: they are designed to be portable and for taking on the move, partnered with your iPod or iPhone. They fold flat and you get a bag to keep them in too.

Excellent design; outstanding sound quality; choice of cables; noise isolation

Cables might be a little thin; price

B&W P5 review

Bowers & Wilkins has been turning out the sort of speakers that get audiophiles frothing at the ears for donkeys years, but the British company has recently turned its attentions towards the world of portable audio.

Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless

The Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless are simply the wireless edition of the P5 Series 2 headphones I reviewed earlier this year. With this added functionality, you can now stream wirelessly from your phone. In most other respects, however, the design is more-or-less the same.

High-class style; Rich sound; Wireless

Some report connectivity complaints; Thick sound limits separation; On-cup buttons could be refined

You can't miss with the P5's

I looked and pondered and watched YouTube reviews for several months before settling on the P5's. They have a warm sound signature which I have found that I prefer. Run them through a headphone amp/DAC for a phenomenal sound experience.

Great sound signature; portable; excellent design

The audio cable seems kind of cheap and the way it connects to the headphone is annoying; They get uncomfortable after about an hour

Not loud enough for me.

Tried with 3 different devices. A Samsung Galaxy Note 8 a HTC 10 and a LG V30. The LG V30 being having a quad DAC. First tried over Bluetooth and not loud enough so then tried them wired, they were a bit louder but still no where near loud enough. So not doubting the quality but they are very quiet.

Try it before you buy it

Check out Bose first and pricing before you buy this. It's ok but much to high for what there asking for, bring it down 200.00 and than I may think of buying it, this is NOT worth the $$$$

Good - not great

Priced to high
