Review: B&W P3 Headphones

There are speaker companies better-known than B&W, but I doubt any has a more enviable reputation. B&Ws have been a fave of audiophiles and recording engineers for decades. But the best indicator of B&W's rep would probably be a walk through an audio show in China, where you'll see no other speaker...

great sound but not great headphones

I really liked these headphones as the sound quality was great! But, when I used them during a normal duration if doing my homework, my ears would physically hurt from the lack of padding around the ear.

Great Sound; Lightweight

Cord Too Short; Hurt Ears If On Too Long; Uncomfortable

Bowers & Wilkins P3

Background: I own Sennheiser HD600 and Fiio X3II. I love HD600 because it is comfortable and also works well for my classical music and vocal music. But it doesn't play well with any pop music on my iPhone. I got a decent portable amp. I have tried several different brand of amp.

warm; comfortable and stylish looking

too warm and only good for pop

State of the art comfort, sound and design.

These are the best headphones i have ever used ... I have had other high end brands and these surpass those by far! The sound is crystal clear and the comfort is as if you are not even wearing headphones! Plus they are very stylish for over the ear phones.

How To Spend It

I've never quite subscribed to the worship of British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins. Its elongated rugby-ball-style Zeppelin models are just too style (and not much of that, I say) over substance for my liking.

Big sound in little package

Lots of love for the Bowers & Wilkins P3 and I can now understand why. Its slimness, stylish design, and metallic look are not just for the show. They are being supported by exceptional sound quality and comfort.

A Winner

Excellent Sound quality, tremendous clarity. Good packaging - esp. the hard case. Good foldable design. Competitively priced. Memory foam adjusts to the ear shape and rests comfortably. Downside - Bass is too strong. Overall a great buy!

Try Before You Buy

A very well made product that has a serious quality feel to it. The sound is very neutral and so these are no good if you like a lot of bass. You need to spend a bit more to get a true hi fi sound - the B&W P5s have a much better sound but are not as portable and cost more.

Bowers & Wilkins P3

The Bowers & Wilkins P3 headphones' impressive combination of design, sound quality, and features put it near the top of the class for portable headphones in its price range.

The, have an impressive design, strong performance, and an iPhone-friendly integrated microphone/remote; They also come with a hard-shell carrying case and an extra "straight-wire" cable that can be easily swapped in

They're fairly pricey and the integrated; remote isn't compatible with all smartphones; and you'll get some sound leakage from open-back earcup design
