If you've beaten the main game, get this. It's much cheaper than downloading all of the DLC it includes. It only includes about half of the total DLC available for BL2 though!
Amazing game. This is not anything like COD. The equipment and secrets are amazing, and the leveling up is phenomenal. Best co-op game ever.
It's always awesome to see the growth of a brand beyond "risk" to utterly "backable". This is the case with Gearbox Software's Borderlands IP, a game that sprung up out of nowhere and pitched the ludicrous idea of marrying RPGs (and a bit of the MMORPG) with first-person shooters.
A visual leap over its predecessor; which is saying something; Teeming with life not found in the first game makes for a much more engaging experience; More friendly and enemy variety; Expanded looting and side-questing will keep you coming back for more; Environmental variety is also a huge boon,...
On-foot travel can get a bit annoying at time given the size of the game-world and its various instances; A serious lack of being able to approach enemy strongholds stealthily
Fans of the original Borderlands will know just how a good a job Gearbox did with the subsequent DLC packs. There were four in total, each one offering something a little fresh and quirky to the main tale, adding many more hours to the overall game and all with tongue wedged firmly in cheek.
Borderlands was revelatory. It was proof that the loot-chaser mechanic of Diablo could work in a first person shooter, that cel-shading wasn't only for comic book games and that Gearbox Software could do more than port games or make outstandingly (if depressingly) realistic tactical shooters.
Bought this on a recommendation of a friend. Awesome game, good graphics, good game play and great multiplayer set up. Certainly one of the best games in it's genre.
A must buy game! If you like Fallout 3/Vegas, Skyrim, and the like then this game will suit you fine.
Borderlands was a 2009 release which sought to exploit the MMO-style desire of latent OCD suffering gamers across the world to collect bigger and better loot. It saw great success thanks to this feature and a solid co-operative system, despite never really trying particularly hard with plot.
I played the first borderlands and i have to say this is a definate improvement. Great uniquie gameplay and a good storyline to back the game up. The only fault i can really pick up on the game is the fact its a bit short although you can play through again on a harder difficulty and get better loot...
