"best deal for the price. PERIOD !!!"

Look, I read the reviews, listened to youtube clips, etc...I'm a lead vocalist in a hard rock cover band and needed a better microphone.Bottom line, Whether this mic is as good as an sm58 is irrelevent. This thing is under $30, if you feel the need to buy a name than by all means, spend $100 on an...

Works sweet on the TS940S

Having recently switched radios again, wanted to run the Ultravoice on my TS940. As the 940 has a high impedance mic input the Behringer wasn't performing up to its potential. I bought a Hosa 200 ohm to 50K ohm impedance transformer and mounted it inside the XM8500. Performance is amazing.

bang for your buck!

For the price, about as good as you get. This mic is unbelievable. The price has nothing to do with the quality this mic puts out..Behringer sure knows how to deliver value. buy it you wont regret it

This mic has a VERY clean response that bring out the tone of my lows, mids, and highs with stunning clarity; I have used several quality mics over the years, and the XM8500 ranks among my favorites; From a side by side comparison with the SM58 and could not tell a difference in sound quality.

its hard to complain about this mic for the price and quality only thing i noticed is it doesnt have an on/off switch; no quality mic that I know of does - including the 58

The XM8500 is BETTER than the SM58 in live applications - I have done compared testing on these 2 mics in different venues - small, medium, and large halls. The XM8500 has a greater presence and less prone to feedback. Highly recommend for any type or level of musical bands.

Best all around mic for the money!

This Behringer XM8500 compares to the Shure SM58, yet at less than 1/3 the price of the latter. It's even better suited than the SM58 for studio use because of it's lower dB sensitivity (-70dbl compared to the SM58's -54). Highly recommend this mic for live and studio applications.

Excellent microphone, exceptional value!

First, kudos to B&H for the VERY quick service. Thank you!I was in radio and TV broadcasting for almost 40 years and now do freelance voiceovers in my retirement, so I am very familiar with microphones.I settled on the XM8500 as a new V/O mic after reading the great reviews here and on other sites.
