Beats Powerbeats Pro

PowerBeats Pro are being marketed as high-performance workout earphones, but they're also high-performing audio devices!

Designed for athletes

PowerBeats Pro will, according to their manufacturers, "revolutionise the way you work out." While they're built for elite athletes, any reasonably active person will love them. They're totally wireless earphones, so nothing will hold you back. The adjustable, secure-fit ear hooks are customisable for superior comfort and will stay in place, no matter how energetic things get.

Sound like a pro

PowerBeats Pro deliver balanced audio courtesy of a redesigned acoustic package that delivers pure sound reproduction, improved clarity and a wider dynamic range.

Control your audio

Choose to listen to left, right or both...you're in control. Each earbud has full volume and track controls so you don’t need a device to adjust your music. Meanwhile, the auto play and pause sensors know when the earbuds are in your ear, so the sounds will start as soon as you’re ready to go. Voice-assistant capability on a variety of compatible devices lets you stay in control.

Long play performance

Each earbud has up to 9 hours of listening time, and with the charging case, you’ll get more than 24 hours of combined playback. In case of audio emergency, 5-minute Fast Fuel charging gives 1.5 hours of playback when the battery is low.  To further conserve battery life, sensors detect when earbuds are idle and automatically enter sleep mode.

Keep moving, keep playing

PowerBeats Pro use Class 1 Bluetooth technology to give you extended range, fewer dropouts and ongoing connectivity as you keep moving. Each earbud connects independently to your device for better connectivity and freedom of use for music and phone calls.

The first wire-free Beats are some of the best workout buds you can buy.

Beats Powerbeats Pro Totally Wireless Earphones - Moss MV712PA/A review

The Beats Powerbeats Pro are the headphones to get if you want a pair of true wireless headphones that firmly stay in your ears. They’re a little expensive, to be sure, but they’re well-designed, sound great, and offer a host of awesome connectivity features thanks to the H1 chip, at least if you’re...

With mediocre sound quality, problematic connectivity and a bulky carrying case, the new Beats headphones are a stylish letdown

Excellent battery life; Pairs well with Apple devices; Secure fit;

Connectivity and latency issues on Android; Mediocre sound for the price; Cumbersome carrying case;

Beats Powerbeats Pro Totally Wireless Earphones - Black MV6Y2PA/A review

They are supposed to be the better alternative to Apple’s AirPods. The new Powerbeats Pro are designed for athletes and are now coming to Germany. The Powerbeats Pro will be available at the Apple Store from 6 June. The True-Wireless headphones can already be pre-ordered.

Beats Powerbeats Pro Totally Wireless Earphones - Black MV6Y2PA/A review

The AirPods have been a crown jewel for Apple. Damn-near every iPhone user has one or lost one. While the many were awaiting the sequel to Apple’s AirPods, the end results was a mild update to one of the most sold accessories. But the new AIrPods aren’t the only thing that arrived this year.

Beats Powerbeats Pro review

Beats has found the perfect balance with the Pros. The hook design makes them the perfect everyday earphone for all manner of activities, whether it’s the commute or park run in any conditions, to an overly sweaty gym session. All-day wear threatens to become uncomfortable, but that’s the price pay for the snug and stable fit. There are flaws – the case is too big, materials could be better, and heaven knows why they aren’t USB-C. Apple’s input is so evident – the beauty of the Powerbeats setup is in its simplicity and the overall user experience is a breeze. Make no mistake, this is the best pair of earphones or headphones yet to carry the Beats moniker and not for the overly bassy reasons the brand made its name in the first place. It’s all rather mature when it comes to audio quality. You can still bring the noise when you want to, other genres to get far more sensitive treatment than on previous products. There are more affordable options available. We love RHA’s TrueConnect at just £150, but the extra functionality justifies the cost. Dre’s buds are still representing gangsters all across the world, still hitting them low ends, girl, but after taking time to perfect the beat they’ve finally shown some love for a far, far wider selection of music lovers.

Grown up sound ; Battery life ; Apple’s innards ; Smooth setup and controls ;

Bulky charging case ; No USB-C; Price ; Noise isolation ;

Beats Powerbeats Pro review

The true wireless Powerbeats Pro a big step up for the Apple-owned headphone brand. They have their limitations (see: lack of noise-cancellation, limited noise isolation and IPX4 rating), but they are Apple’s most premium workout buds.

Easy pairing with iOS; Immaculate fit; Enjoyable sound;

Case is fairly bulky; Limited noise isolation; Only IPX4 rated

Beats PowerBeats Pro Review

The Beats PowerBeats Pro are some of the least annoying true wireless earphones ever. And they sound good too.

Stable, comfortable fit; Decent sound; Very good battery life for true wireless;

Connectivity isn't perfect; Slightly synthetic mid texture; Bass boost improved, but not high-end;

Beats Powerbeats Pro review: Bulkier than AirPods, but with better sound

I'll lay it right out there: The degree to which you'll like the Powerbeats Pro, Beats' first true wireless earphones, will depend largely on how well they fit your ears. If you get a comfortable, snug fit with a tight seal from one of the four different sized included silicon tips, you'll probably love these headphones and feel OK about dropping $200 on them. End up with something less than that and you may question their worth.

If you can overlook the jumbo charging case and high price, the Powerbeats Pro true wireless headphones are superior to the AirPods in a few key ways.

The Powerbeats Pro have better sound and battery life than the AirPods and will stay on your ears securely; They offer all the same basic conveniences of the 2019 AirPods, including fast pairing, rock-solid wireless connectivity and always-on Siri voice-recognition for iOS users; Phone call quality is excellent; Physical buttons for music playback control will appeal to Android users.

The Powerbeats Pro are more expensive than AirPods; The charging case isn't pocket-friendly, nor does it offer wireless charging; The headphones deliver some treble push, and may not fit all ears perfectly.

Beats Powerbeats Pro Review

We weren't impressed by Apple's second-gen AirPods, but the company also owns Beats, and the new true wireless Powerbeats Pro couldn't be more different from them. The Powerbeats offer stronger audio performance, easier controls, and a more secure fit, for a better overall user experience. The only thing we aren't fans of is the price, a high $249.95. But it's no secret that Beats charges a premium for branding, and if you're a fan of the company's design and deep-bass sound signature, you won't be disappointed. Design Available in black, blue, ivory, or moss models, the Powerbeats Pro earpieces have a sleek design, with a smooth, matte finish and ear hooks that grip the ear firmly, without feeling uncomfortable. An adjustable grip helps the eartips create an excellent in-ear seal with an exceptionally secure fit. Along with four total pairs of silcone eartips in four sizes, it's hard to imagine these earphones falling out during exercise. That said, they can be a little difficult...

A secure fit, easy operation, and a bass-forward sound signature make the Powerbeats Pro ideal true wireless earphones for Beats fans.

Powerful audio performance with intense bass depth and bright highs; Strong battery life; Exceptionally secure in-ear fit

Expensive; Wildly sculpted sound signature; Auto-play feature isn't for everyone
